  im newly introduced to .

  jws from a coworker and i do a bible study on saturday i hear a lot of disinfranchised former members i understand putting up with all the inevitable hypochrosy and not being given a real choice as a child could really sour you on a religion.

  im merely curious and have no intention of becoming a member as i have a relationship with god that i have worked very hard to obtain.

  Welcome. I don't think there is any ignorance to it.

  You are simply listening to some new thoughts and questioning them. This is good. In fact, if you have questions, ask them now. Because once a person becomes a baptised witness he is not to question any teaching, under threat of disfellowshipping (excommunication.)

  You will find out many things on this forum to ask about, many of them surprising. Ask, for instance, details about the founder of the religion, Charles T. Russell, and his teachings about pyramids and the correlation to the year 1914.

  Ask about the WT involvement in the United Nations.

  You may find out about many other things you have concerns about by staying in this forum.

  Let us know how the jw answers your questions.

  calgary/am770chqr - the father of a calgary jehovah's witnesses teen who died after refusing blood transfusions has won a partial victory in the alberta court of appeal.. the province's highest court has ruled that lawrence hughes should not have been removed as an administrator of his late daughter's estate.. the court has also restored his lawsuit on behalf of the estate alleging the watchtower society and its lawyers used mis-representation and deceit to convince his 16-year-old daughter bethany chemotherapy and blood transfusions would not help cure her cancer and were experimental.. however, the appeal court upheld the trial judges dismisal of hughes' other claims including conflict of interest, undue influence and conspiracy.

  Well, O.K., if you must go.....

  But I do want you to know how much I enjoyed reading the story of your first meeting with missanna and your subsequent marriage. I hope all continues to go really well for you. I have been married for over thirty five years. We've had ups and downs but basically try to keep a sense of humor and not get overly stressed over small things like toothpaste squeezing, etc.

  Hope you do come back from time to time. Seems no one but people with our backgrounds can really understand some of our feelings.

  she actually came out in defense of michael vick.

  she said in some parts of the south dog fights are common so we must understand where he's comming from.. well, in some parts of the south people discriminate against african americans.

  are we supposed to excuse them, understand them?

  Dog fighting is not a "southern thing." Call of the Wild by Jack London is set in the Yukon. He rescues his dog from a dog fighting group.

  It is just inhumane, not regional.

  i live in the tropics so we experience hot and rainy weather.

  where i live the sun is very hot at this time that your skin feel as though it's on fire.

  i have never experienced snow.

  This type of water canopy of ice crystals and vapor would have been able to shield the earth from harmful solar x-rays and provide a greenhouse environment ideal for maximum plant and animal growth. It has deteriorated in time due to all the pollution we have today. Our ozone layer would have been different. As time goes by, it gets weaker as more and more "diseases" attack it.

  Anyway back then temperature variations between the equator and the poles would vary by only forty or fifty degrees.

  The Bible indicates that there was no rain before the flood.....but...."there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground."

  In this kind of climate, the plant and animal life would definitely flourish, (the greenhouse effect) so much so that when the flood of Noah came, great deposits of flesh and fiber were compressed and converted to huge oil reservoirs and layers of coal hundreds of feet thick.

  This explains the climate back then in Bible history.

  What I am wondering is this--why are you asking questions here if you seem to have all the answers? It reminds me of the front of the Watchtower magazine-Was there really an earthwide flood? etc. ................you really don't seem to be asking questions to gain information............

  I just don't get it. Does she want to live life in a musical, with everyone singing to each other instead of talking?

  Ask her if she now requires songs from you when you call.

  Maybe you could sing "Jadda, jadda, jadda jadda jing jing jing" from the forties and ask her for her reply.
