Hey nvr,
You're quite the traveler, aren't you! So, that's where you get your Spanish accent. lol. I would just like to add that people in Latin American countries really do appreciate it when a "gringo" has a pleasant attitude, isn't demanding ("Hey, I'm an American! I have rights, you know!"), and tries to speak Spanish.

Did you have to dress up for meeting?
by ericr ini remember having to dress up for every meeting even the ones during the week.
i had to wear a botton down shirt dress pants, a tie, dress shoes, dress socks and a blazer.
this was also required by my parents to dress up when going door to door.

I remember some men dressing in very colorful suit/tie/shirt combinations. I think they actually enjoyed the opportunity to get dressed up. Not me. I haven't worn a suit in over a year now. I haven't had a haircut in over a year now. I usually shave, though... about once a week.

Calling all home brewers!
by B_Deserter inso who here brews?
i've been doing it for about a year now and it's loads of fun.
i grew my own hop vines this year and i'm going to be making a batch with fresh ones this year.

I did several times, but it's been years since the last batch. I've still got the glass carboy, the food grade buckets, and the various valves, hoses, bottle capper, etc. I used to buy the kits with the malt, hops, caps, and instructions in a box. The only other thing I needed was non-screw-cap bottles. So, technically you can use old Coca-Cola bottles for your favorite stout. "Uh, no, officer. I haven't been drinking. See, it's a Coke."

I live in Puerto Rico, right next door to "Santo Domingo" as the locals call it. Puerto Ricans like to make jokes about Dominicans. Dominicans try to get into Puerto Rico illegally. I've not been there myself, but I'd like to go someday. Some people go there and can't look past the poverty. If you fly there, you need a passport. If you take the ferry from Mayaguez, PR, you don't need a passport. You can fly to Puerto Rico without a passport. We use the US dollar here. There's lots to see and do. Many people speak English. Puerto Ricans are US citizens. On the other hand, it's crowded and the traffic is awful. Pictures? Go to Flickr and type in the name of your destination.

Personally, I don't see the correlation that this film is supposed to have with the way that the Watchtower Society operates. That is a big leap in my opinion. If the information presented in the film makes you feel uncomfortable, then you can walk away and believe whatever you want. It would appear that the makers of this film want us to dig deeper and "wake up." On the other hand, the WTS only wants us to be "awake" insofar as it serves their needs, which is why they discourage looking beyond their own publications for answers. All information is propaganda. Don't assume that the propaganda from "trusted" sources is any less spun than a "documentary" like Zeitgeist.

I watched it. Interesting and thought provoking. Really, nothing new here, though. I liked the Jesus myth part. I already knew that astrology is found in the Bible. I already knew that many Bible stories and characters are blatant rip-offs of older myths and heroes from other civilizations. I still think that some Jewish teacher lived and had some kind of following in the first century. Naturally, the myth became greater than the man, whoever he was.
I'm familiar with Michael Ruppert's "From the Wilderness" website, which discusses the Bush/Bin Laden connection among other 9/11 issues. He wrote a book about it. Frankly, I never read his book or got into the 9/11 debate. Go argue 9/11 with someone else. I have no conclusions, only questions.
I already knew about the banking system. I've heard about the North American Union recently. I hadn't heard of the Amero. I've heard of RFID chips. It seems a bit unreal. Who wants to have so much control and why? It boggles the mind.
