Tips on going to Jamaica????
by Tatiana inif all goes as planned, two female friends and i will be heading for ocho rios, jamaica, for 7 days come march.
it's not near kingston, where there is supposed to be lots of crime and gangbangers.
we will be staying at "rooms on the beach" hotel.

Stay at an all-inclusive resort and don't go off of it at night. If you go to the nightclubs, only use licensed cabs that the hotel finds for you. I've heard of women getting raped and robbed by unreputable cab drivers.
I work in the travel and tourism industry and hear a lot of stories that don't get media attention.
One other tip, be very careful if you are flying on Air Jamaica. Over the past few months I've heard several instances of theft from luggage on Air Jamaica flights flying through or departing from Montego Bay.

As of this post, PMJ made 61 posts on this forum. He berates all of us for not following the truth when at least 62 times, he disobeyed warnings against these sites by Jehovah's organization.
It reeks of hypcrisy.

That's great PMJ. But you didn't meet your wife on a site that is primarily anti-Watchtower with disfellowshipped and disassociated people did you? Do the elders know you are on THIS site - a site where you are communicating with disfellowshipped and disassociated people and if they don't why not? If you don't tell them you are on this site, a site that the Society has repeatedly warned you against, than you are not following the truth. You are beating around the bush, it's a simple question...really.

You still didn't answer my question PMJ. Do the elders in your congregation know you are here reading and posting? You seem to think that just because you are amusing yourself it's ok with the Society to be here. If you can't tell the elders in your hall that you are here, that makes you a hypocrite. You are not following the "truth" when you are breaking Jehovah's rules.

You claim to be a faithful Jehovah's Witness yet you repeatedly disobey the Society by reading and posting on this forum. Many if not most of those here are apostates. Do the elders in your congregation know you are here?

Let's add to the list of reasons why they are laying off Bethelites:
Liability issues
Remember the $1.55 million settlement? Everyone of these folks who drives a car is a huge liability waiting to happen.
Volunteers, my butt...
Another liability would be workman's compensation. Even if they are volunteers, companies are still required to pay workman's comp if a worker is injured on the job. When we hire unpaid interns our liability insurance goes up because of this. I could imagine the number of on the job injuries they have at Bethel working on machinery.

Followup on activity at NYC Bethel
by startingover ini posted something a few days ago on friends regarding printing still being done in nyc.
i have some new info and am putting it under scandals because it doesn't move so fast.. i have family members that just returned from a trip to nyc.
they did the tours in brooklyn, walkill and patterson.

I heard from excellent sources that the Society is slowly selling off real estate in the US and investing the money offshore. Maybe they're doing this to avoid large lawsuit payouts.
Has anyone else heard this?
