  i have been lurking here for quite a while and have decided to officially introduce myself.

  i am still an active jw but i am in a holding pattern of sorts right now because of many of the things i have read on this form.

  they truely have been eye openers.

  Jim Caviezel (left) was struck by lightning while filming Actor Jim Caviezel has been struck by lightning while playing Jesus in Mel Gibson's controversial film The Passion Of Christ. The lightning bolt hit Caviezel and the film's assistant director Jan Michelini while they were filming in a remote location a few hours from Rome. It was the second time Michelini had been hit by lightning during the shoot. Neither of them was badly hurt, according to the film's producer Steve McEveety. Michelini had previously been struck during filming in Matera, Italy, when he suffered light burns to his fingers after lightning hit his umbrella. Describing the second lightning strike, McEveety told VLife, a supplement of the trade paper Variety: "I'm about a hundred feet away from them when I glance over and see smoke coming out of Caviezel's ears." The Passion Of Christ, which was filmed in the ancient languages of Latin and Aramaic, is directed and co-written by actor Mel Gibson and focuses on the last 12 hours in the life of Jesus. Although it is not due for release until early next year, it has already hit headlines after Jewish figures in the United States slated it for being "dangerous" and portraying Jews in a negative way. Originally titled The Passion, the film changed its title last week after Miramax claimed the rights to the title for one of its own projects, a historical epic based on a Jeanette Winterson novel. The film now looks set to be released in the States by independent distributors Newmarket Films, who released Memento and Whale Rider in the US.

  An ex-Jw friend of mine had a Near Death Experience. She flat lined on the operating table. This experience helped her realize the JW's were wrong about an afterlife. The elder's told her she was dreaming but to anyone who has had a NDE, they know it was real.

  i have.....got a set of gold-plated silverware for daughter and s-i-l (they already know, but don't know about individual gifts...heheheh)....jeans for my g/daughters and some karaoke cd's in the planning....don't know yet what i'll get for ol' crabby pants...(the ex that i'm watching over cause he's physically/mentally challenged from stroke)..... i like to get this shtuff outta the way early....can't stand that last minute hysteria...so..... how're yall doing with your plans for christmas?.

  having looked at all the stunts he puts himself through, my jw beliefs come into play and i truly think he might be possessed by a demon that gets pleasure out of torturing the poor idiot.. would love to read your thoughts on this issue..

  The Growing Critical Study of Jehovah's Witnesses.

  almost from the beginning,the bible student--jehovah's witness movement has had its severe critics.in the past criticism was ordinarily directed at its doctrinal,civic or blood transfusion issues.

  some dissidents who broke with the society also censured the wt.authority struture and inconsistencies in wt.theology.a few attempted to take their concern to the general public.. beginning in about 1980 all of that changed.in the past little harm came to the society from their critics.however devastating criticism has been unleashed against the society,especially since 1980. this devastating criticism has been leveled at the heart of the society's history of ever-changing date setting speculation,shifting and changing doctrine,and the concealment-of-errors strategies has been exposed by recourse to wt.literature itself.. the wt.officials have no recourse ( because they are unable to respond adequately ) but, to declare all dissidents as apostates and forbid the reading of all anti-witness materials.including on the internet.which includes this forum maintained by simon and all who have an in-put here-in.. good work everyone and welcome to the team of the ever growing critical study of jehovah's witnesses.. blueblades.
