  Disfellowshipping and Shunning, what are some good refutations.....wife BS

  bible study 9/8/2008 supposed to be ch.

  my wife is asking about her mothers being disfellowshipping and asking why her baptized sister can not talk to her..i think this really bothers my wife a lot.

  the sister is trying to say that one should not want to be associated with those who are no longer one of the jws.

  Just released this video, might have some interesting points. Specifically deals with children being baptized and then held under the threat of disfellowshipping. Holding a person responsible for a decision made at 9-10 years old, even at the age of 16-17 is harsh indeed.

  Misquotes from the "Reasoning Book" re: Cross (scans included)

  the "reasoning book" claims that the 1874 edition of the imperial bible dictionary verifies the idea that jesus was crucified on a stake.

  however, when you check the reference with the imperial bible dictionary, you see that it acutally is not as clear cut as that.. as usual, the infamous "..." of the watchtower has been used to edit out any opposing ideas in the source that they cite.. i know that this may have been mentioned before, but the scans of the imperial bible dictionary that are floating around the internet are from later editions, hence the page numbers are not those cited in the reasoning book.. .

Barack Obama cannot be the American president because he refuses to participate in our glorious national tradition of giving our children lots of expensive plastic shit for them to choke on all the time. These communist Obamas throw birthday parties for their tots but do not give them actual presents. What other subversive values are the Obamas teaching their children?

  Phone Conversation With My Dad (Elder)...

  i got so pissed off yesterday after this phone conversation...he's such a sweet man, but very much under the control of the watchtower.

  we both agreed that we missed each other and would love nothing more than to be able to do some stuff together and have a relationship, but he said, "that's all up to you.

  well if that's the case, let's plan a trip or something in the next couple of weeks.

  Sorry to hear that deacon. Not that I haven't heard that reasoning before. When it comes down to it, JWs can't research...and this is counted as "faith"...in the organisation. Whatever.
