There seems to be some mis-understanding as to why I posted this and the previous Study Watchtowers
Many members of JWD and others have asked for it, they prefer to see the actual magazine,
if it is no longer required I will stop posting the scans, I do have other things in my life to do!

Elder asks me why we quit... (Long)
by Odrade inin this thread i mentioned having a long chat with an elder last summer.
i didn't realize i had never posted the story, so here it is.. last summer (when i went to buy my new camera lens) i ran into one of my favorite jws at the photography shop.
he was buying a camera bag for his new dslr, and i saw him, went up and greeted him, hugged him.

Is it official policy that elders MUST advise the parent to report abuse?
by Must obey! innotwithstanding the plain fact that the watchtower's heinous "two witness" rule is obviously flawed (scripturally and in terms of natural justice), it seems to me that as long as the elders are advising the parent/caregiver to go to the authorities in every case where an accusation of child abuse has occurred that this is sufficient for the elders to discharge their legal duty, shouldn't it?.
i have heard rumours that this is in fact the official current policy (since when i don't know) of the society: that they tell the elders to advise the parent/caregiver to inform the authorities of alleged child abuse.
but how firm is this policy?

In the British Isles, Elders must take the complainant/child TO the Police and make sure the complaint is listened to,
the elders will then give a statement to the police WITHOUT talking to the Brother/Sister who is alleged to have abused the child.
This is despite the instructions given at http://www.jw-media.org/region/global/english/backgrounders/e_molestation.htm
which says:
"When any one of Jehovah's Witnesses is accused of an act of child abuse, the local congregation elders are expected to investigate. Two elders meet separately with the accused and the accuser to see what each says on the matter. If the accused denies the charge, the two elders may arrange for him and the victim to restate their position in each other's presence, with elders also there."
This is not the present recommended procedure according to our local cong.
Why the WTBTS can't correct the website is beyond me, they are effectivly lying to the whole world.

A Holiday Gift to JWD, from Scully & Friends

this project entailed converting scans of hard copies of public talk outlines into pdf format and then compiling all of them into zip folders.
there are over 150 documents in total, complete with update notices from brooklyn.

The story they (the elders) will tell will be So o o o o h !! Different.
They will now write a report to the branch about this, that report is what YOU need to get hold of.
In the UK you can use the Data protection act, I don't know about your area.
I obtained a letter written by my wife's elders, the lies were atrocious.

the way they can blatently lie.
granted it's not all of them, but it's the ones' in ""power"" and your family (that's what happend to me) .

The elders in my wife's cong are just the same, they just think by lying they won't get found out.
I even have their lies in writing, unfortunately when contacting the branch office they just can't/won't believe it.
In 'Bethel's' eyes, it is impossible for elders etc. to lie.
A recent disfellowshipping was conducted just by 2 elders but they have convinced the branch office it was done by 3 elders as required by 'the rules'!
You can't win against them.
