one of the possible objections is that the term "mentally diseased" is metaphorical.. when people answered on this paragraph did they say "people who leave are metally diseased" or did they say "they are like mentally diseased" people?.

if they said the former it would indicate that they did not take it metaphorically..

I am sorry you misunderstood; I am NOT one of the lying Jehovah's Witnesses and I DO NOT support them or their views. Unfortunately i do have to support my wife who is an active member.

Confused.

ok, i am aware there is people here who have strong opinions about the wtb, and all things entailing that.

what i am confused by is threads dealing with athiesm, evolution, and other non christian topics being viewed as viable and worth discussing on this board.

they may very well worth discussing, but i was under the impression that this was a board revolving around jehovahs witnesses.

I think it may be you who is confused; the forum revolves around, mainly, EX JW's and those who are in the process of leaving.

History of Disfellowshipping

i'm looking to compile a real history of how this heinous practice came into existance.. i've read the 1947 article condemning it and i believe knorr instituted it in 1952 when frustrated with a wife swapping ordeal at columbia heights.. can someone confirm?
