Why doesn't Jehovah just tell us what is the absolute truth instead of "dribbling it out" here-and-there? "Dribbling it out" perfect way to describe it.

" they weren't satisfied four decades ago when i was active, and they are not satisified now.

Backwards Creationist Thinking
by 2050 infirstly, and most importantly, this is not an attack on creationists.
i have many good friends who believe in creation and i respect their views.. i created this analogy as an expression of my viewpoint.
the purpose is to illustrate the faulty reasoning of creationists (my opinion).

Firstly, and most importantly, this is not an attack on creationists. I have many good friends who believe in creation and I respect their views.
I created this analogy as an expression of my viewpoint. The purpose is to illustrate the faulty reasoning of creationists (my opinion). I wanted to make it as simple as possible for people to understand the flawed reasoning. If you think I am wrong I would love to hear it.
Note: This analogy does not apply to all creationists.
An atheist and a creationist are walking along a riverbank
Creationist: “Look at this! The course of this river has obviously been designed, it’s avoiding every single tree on the riverbank!”
Atheist: “That’s not true, the river isn’t avoiding anything”.
Creationist: “But look at it! Can’t you see? It’s swerving to avoid every single plant!”
Atheist: “This river was not designed, there is overwhelming evidence that it formed by natural processes and the plants are growing on the land that is available to them”.
Creationist: “Are you trying to tell me that all those plants know where the riverbank is?
Atheist: “No, I never said that the plants know anything, seeds will germinate when the conditions are right. The soil on the riverbank is nutrient rich and has a good amount of moisture in it”.
Creationist: (smiling to himself) “So, who planted the seeds on the riverbank for them to germinate in the first place? Did they plant themselves there did they?”
Atheist: “No, the seeds are dispersed naturally by wind and animals etc”.
Creationist: “That’s impossible! What are the chances of all these plants coming to the riverbank by accident? The probability is just too low”.
Atheist: “Actually the probability is so high that it happens all the time. It is to be expected”.
Creationist: “You are very foolish, why don’t you give credit to the one who designed this river?”
Atheist: “No one designed the river! Why do you keep saying that when all the evidence is against you?”
Creationist: (pulls out a book) “Look, it says so right here! First he planted the trees, then he made the river, can you see how he was careful not to disturb the plants?”
Atheist: “This guy sounds hilarious, can I talk to him?”
Creationist: (smiling excitedly) “Of course you can! He loves it when people talk to him”.
Atheist: “Cool, what’s his number?”
Creationist: “Don’t be silly, he doesn’t have a phone!”.
Atheist: “Then let’s visit him, where does he live?”
Creationist: “Don’t be stupid! You can’t visit him, he’s not in the universe”.
Atheist: “But you said I can talk to him”.
Creationist: “You can! You can talk to him in your mind and he will hear you”.
Atheist: (laughing) “You should stay away from the lsd buddy”.
Creationist: (frowning) “You know, he said there would be people like you, I really hope that someday you will come to believe in him”.
Atheist: ”Why? What’s the big deal?”
Creationist: “It is a very important matter, your life depends on it. He’s going to kill all the people who don’t believe in him”.
Atheist: “What about my children?”
Creationist: “Bird food”.
Atheist: “This guy sounds like an evil dictator, is he related to Robert Mugabe?”.
Creationist: “The designer isn’t evil! He’s the most loving guy ever! If you believe in him he will give you 1 billion dollars!!!
Atheist: “Sounds like bribery to me”.
Creationist: “It’s not bribery, it’s his loving kindness!”
Atheist: “So is that why you can’t afford to pay your rent and fix your car?”
Creationist: “No silly, he’s going to give it to me after he kills you, then I can have my pet polar bear”.
Atheist: “You really need to cut back on the lsd man, it messes with your mind”.

That cartoon would be even more funny if it wasn't so disturbingly accurate.
I would just like to say that threads like these should not exist. The only way forward is peaceful coexistence. If children say things that we know to be untrue, do we tell them how stupid they are? Does that encourage them to seek the truth? How do we deal with ignorance of this kind? Many times children don't know if they worked out a maths equation incorrectly. We KINDLY help them to understand the equation and eventually they come to see where they went wrong. Unfortunately many children never come to understand the equation, therefore the only way forward is peaceful coexistence.
A child can not be forced to understand maths. They must want to understand the equation. Therefore we should not try to forcefully convert others. They usually convert themselves. We can only give directions to the city of truth. We can't force people to live there.

by Witness 007 ingensis just doesn't fit watchtower logic....gen 2;19 adam names the animals but "no suitable helper {mate} was found" amongst them, so god creates eve..... is there anything in genesis you don't get?.

Atheism - The next and final logical step
by sam_sane_now init is with great pleasure that i have found this forum, being an ex jw myself.
after leaving when i was 17 i still held some belief in the notion of a "god," even though i didn't believe in jw teachings, then when i was about 21 and thought about it properly; i realised that evolution is the only real alternative to all religion.
when you get to this point its very liberating to see that its not just jw's that are clouding and brainwashing peoples minds, but all religion, whether organised or not.

Invisible forces molding life?
There are many observable processes that mold life. A good example is the molding of the dog that has been done by humans (artificial selection). This molding is only possible because of random mutations in DNA (these mutations can be observed). In nature the same thing happens, except the environment 'chooses' who gets to reproduce.

They make huge leaps in logic to conclude it happened?
What about all the evidence? Does evidence not count for anything? When DNA tells us that all life has a common ancestor what are we to do? Should we walk away and pretend we didn't see anything?
That's why it's still called a theory of evolution (unproven hypothesis)
Another common misconception. Here's the funny thing. In science, a theory can be a fact too. Do we hear many people talk about the "hypothesis of evolution"? Many years ago evolution was just a hypothesis, then evidence accumulated and it was proven to be fact.

I think you have dug TOO deep. Maths? Physics? IT? Philosophy? I thought evolution was about genetic mutation.
Are you saying that evolution was invented just to back up the atheist viewpoint? If you are saying this, then maybe you should do some more digging. Atheism can stand very easily on its own due to the lack in evidence for any God. On the other hand, when we examine the evidence that we do have (evolution) we can see that God is not a necessary part of the equation.
I'm not sure how to respond to the irrelevant ramblings so I'm not going to try.

of course, we all know that the watchtower society, after claiming that the bible is useful as this sort of authority, blatantly fails to follow it.. what would you expect some supreme authority to have?
its premises should be beneficial to all involved.
