  Why I post about atheism

  oftentimes the accusation is made that there is some sort of conspiracy on jwd amongst the atheists to convert, humiliate, spit on, or otherwise degrade the believers.

  it's been suggested that their tone is condescending and arrogant.. it's hinted at that they're angry and bitter about their own lives and want to take it out on god and his humble servants.. others think it's all just an excuse to lead what they judge to be a morally depraved life.. regardless of what we believe about god's existence or lack thereof, most rational adults understand that when we attempt to judge the motives of others we can miss by a mile.. so here's the reason i post about the topic of atheism.... i was born as one of jehovah's witnesses, fourth generation.

  i was being indoctrinated with jehovah while i was still in the womb.

  Are you implying that our desire for justice is given to us from God?
  I think there are things that are loveable, and we try to protect them. Things that we hate, we try to destroy.

  My conversations with individuals who have grown up with the internet have shown me that they are more skeptical about religion than my generation.
  
  As we get older, it becomes less important what we think since the younger generation will shape the future.
  
  I see a rising tide of skepticism brought on by free and open exchange of information.

  My Beliefs on Spirtualism

  it was suggested by someone to share my beliefs on spirtualism ever since i left the jw i no longer believe what the bible says.

  however i don't do things like the occult or use a ouija board.

  from the age of 11 i was interested in spiritualism through my brother who practiced out of body experiences, a lot of people have to see it to belive it really as many religions like the jehovah's witnesses says it is all work of satan aka lucifer, fraud or hoax.

  Where do atheists' morals come from?

  many theists believe that atheists have no morality at all.

  they argue that because atheists dont believe in the laws, limitations and boundaries that god has set up for us, there's nothing stopping them from becoming violent, lying thieving sociopaths.

  there have been many stories of people who have "found god" and changed their life, giving up drugs, repenting for past crimes.

  Why do we get so attached to our pets? They are just animals. And sometimes when they die or we have to put them down, we get physically ill. Also, have you ever noticed you think creatures with big eyes are cute, but things with no eyes or beady eyes are not so cute. Why is it easier to beat a snake or a spyder to death, but beating a kitten or a puppy do death is very difficult for most people. Its those cute eyes and that cute behavior. Somewhere in our past, we started looking with fondness into the eyes of our fellow creatures. Maybe a good question to ask is, what makes something loveable, and what makes something an object of hatred.
  Most sociopaths get their start by torturing and killing animals. They are missing that fondness the rest of us feel for loveable creatures.

  You seem very humble. An excellent book for average people like you and I is:
  
  E=Mc2: A Biography of the World's Most Famous Equation
  
  by David Bodanis
  
  Its sort of a history book that covers all the discoveries of the big hitters like Maxwell, Einstein, and all the people they stood on the shoulders of.
  
  You can get it for a few bucks on half.com.
  
  Another very good book in my opinion is "A Short History of Nearly Everything" by Bill Bryson.
  It shows how miraculous it is that we are here at all. Some christains use it to promote intelligent design.

  Quantum analogy:
  If you fire a cannonball into the vacuum of open space with no planets or mass in its path, it will travel a long distance in a straight line. If you fire a cannonball on earth into a column of water, the cannonball will drop towards earth and be deflected by the column of water. The cannonball is the particle you are trying to measure the position of, and the column of water are the photons you are viewing bouncing off the particle. The earth and the water both influence the tragectory of the cannonball. Your physical presence in the room with the quantum sized particle has an influence on its position. Your human body next to the particle you are trying to measure deflects its position.

  Caedes,
  I think the point being made with the arrow is that if you have a still frame picture of the arrow, you have no information about its trajectory. It may have been dropped from above for example. It may have been fired backwards with the feathers pointing towards its destination.
