are any of you still 'politically neutral' for biblical reasons?
just curious.. .

this week marks the news of two "young" brothers i know being accepted to brooklyn bethel.. this pattern continues to demonstrate the current "human resources" policy of the current gb.
while telling those that have spent the best years of their life, "we need you in the field", they continue to bring in the healthy, unsuspecting young brothers so they can be used up with nothing to show for it late in life.. at last year's d.c. there was an interview with a brother that had been "sent back to the field" some 4 months prior to the convention.
what was so sad, is that the brother was clearly alone, and perhaps scared, in his new assignment in a remote rural area with a congregation of 40. he had been accepted to bethel after high school, never pioneered, and had been at bethel for 30 years!
Billy the Ex,
Your smart. Can't you do anything about this? Fix it. Do something.
due to the fact that my mother and some other relatives and a handful of friends are devout jehovah's witnesses, i sometimes stifle my remarks regarding "the truth".. my mother asked me if i felt bad at all for not attending the memorial this year.
(she still holds hope i might come back).
i simply said that i did not feel bad at all.
I stifle myself around JW's, Catholics, Baptists, and all other people who believe the Noahs ark story.
From a recent Pew report:
"Jehovah's Witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any religious tradition. Only 37% of all those who say they were raised as Jehovah's Witnesses still identify themselves as Jehovah's Witnesses."
i think that the very act of questioning the teachings of the watchtower society does not make us apostates!!!
does not the bible teach us to examine what it teaches?
that is what the apostle paul says in the bible.
A difinition for apostate: " One who has abandoned one's religious faith, a political party, one's principles, or a cause."
yes three weeks ago my mum wanted to go through the watchtower with me she had just had at the hall, so i read through it.
basic points....don't worry tooo much about your health...don't be pre-occupied with it...don't promote health products to brothers....the "new system" will cure you so go preaching instead.
i told my mum that this was the most pointless study ever.
Maybe large numbers of people are claiming to be too ill to go to meetings or out in service, faking it.
if you say fiction, how to explain all the hundreds of fulfilled prophecies?.
personally, i don't know what i think.... /newborn.
Newborn,
To JW's, the Noah's ark story is very important. It shows that God judges and executes.
In my opinion, it is difficult for a reasonable person to believe the Noah's ark story.
If you come to the conclusion that it never happened, you can probably reason that the armagedden story will not happen either.
the wt is doing away with the book study so why not replace it with a bible study.
no additional publication just read the bible and comment on it.
ask the members of your book study group if they would like to participate and invite others.
They claim to be "Gods channel" in one breath, then use the "imperfect men" argument when something is proven wrong. I think they should try the "Gods imperfect channel" argument.
oops...hit enter....but anyway...i just do not understand the concept of worship...i want my kids to love me...but not worship me...and we are just tiny pathetic bags of dirt and water...and it does not seem believable that god would have all this huge struggle of the universe over how us puny short lived humans believe in him or not....billions of galaxies....yt we are the big deal?
?...humans think sooo much of themselves...and out of them....the tiny group of jw's think the most of themselves.....i just don't believe god cares that much about worship.........oompa
When your village lives in a flood plain, and lives happily there for 30 years, and one day a flood wipes out your village, who do you blame your misfortune on?
An angry God. And how do you keep this disaster from happening again? Do things that make the God happy.
just curious about this.
there have been a few times in criminal history when a person was charged with killing a woman, and an additional murder charge was added on for killing her fetus if she was pregnant.
seems to be a prosecutor's paradise.
A person is pronounced dead when their brainwave activity stops. I say pronounce a person alive when their brainwave activity starts.
