THE IMPORTANCE OF HOLDING HANDS!
by Dansk ini started a thread a long hug http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/128891/1.ashx which touches on the below, but feel this subject deserves a thread of its own.. a study, highlighted on bbc breakfast news yesterday, acknowledged the importance of holding hands in a relationship, courting or married.
it was stated that couples who hold hands in the street are more likely to have a solid relationship - and especially those who interlink their fingers when holding hands as this indicates a desire to be as close to each other as possible.
arm linking is ok, too, but couples who just walk about not holding hands - and this includes married couples - indicates the relationship could be in trouble.. do you hold hands with your spouse/partner?

i'm a big handholder. sometimes it isn't prudent in public, but i do it whenever and wherever i can. sometimes i wake up holding her hand.

Question for the Ladies?

although i *am* gay, i still have an aesthetic appreciation for men in a physical way. (just a disclaimer -- to show i'm sort of unbiased... )
guys with shorter hair, but longish sideburns.
guys who take care of themselves -- a nice body is appreciated. i happen to like abs on a guy, although i concur with the "if it's too 'built', it's too much". not that that means you have to be model-handsome, just not gross.
clean teeth, halitosis-free.
nice hands -- clean, trimmed nails.
well put together, appearance-wise (ie: clothes can certainly enhance, if you're going by looks.)
good posture.
hope this helps.

Did you ever go to Brooklyn to visit Bethel?
by JH inwhen i joined back in the mid 80's many in my congregation went to visit the bethel in brooklyn.. for some reason, i had no interest for that.. in the last years that i attended meetings, they didn't organize anything like that anymore.. i wonder why that changed?.

my parents paid for me to go with a group from our hall in the early 90s -- i think they thought it would encourage me to do better. the thing i remember the most is how tidy it was (i'm a bit of a neat freak). other than that, i just liked walking around the city late at night. it *didn't* encourage me to "do better", though... just encouraged me to make it out to ny without other witnesses around so i could see and do what i wanted to.

none. i hate cooking. hate it with a passion that is greater than the fire of a thousand suns.
BUT... my girlfriend loves to cook. i like to clean, so it all works out for the best. she makes thanksgiving every year, and stews, chili, stuffed steak, pretty much anything, and it's always amazing.

i don't think k. got down on one knee... although he may have. (it was 14 years ago, i can't remember) it wasn't terribly important to me whether he did or not. is she very traditional in that respect? some people *really* like that part of the story: "...and then he got down on one knee..."

my fiance (we didn't end up getting married, but that's another story) took me for a walk and gave me a beautiful card he'd written a poem (of his own) on. the last line was: "will you marry me?" and then he gave me the ring. it was romantic, private, and pretty perfect. too bad i'm gay! it was a great proposal though... and i kept the card (but not the ring.)
