My mother's a qualified chef, and her food's delicious. But giving us lentil soup. Disgusting! Flipping hippie food. Neil from The Young Ones would be happy eating at my mum's.

Did you stop believing Armageddon is coming?

how many just stopped believing in the jw predictions/description of what armageddon is all about?

ive met exjws that stopped believing in everything they were taught and ive met some that stopped believing in everything except armageddon.

ive heard comments like: boy wont they be surprised when the day comes and they find out they arent the only ones surviving.

I still believe in Armageddon coming. Blondie hit the nail on the head with her comment. I used to get annoyed with other witnesses worshipping God just to be saved rather than serving him with the goodness of their hearts. I don't know about the rest of you, but I seen people come into the org for that particular reason, and they never change their obnoxious attitudes. So much for serving god out of love.

BOOT CAMP

i want to know what it is like for my daughter......... there must be some stories out there ....... also, anyone know heatmiser?

if i remember right, he was in iraq or going.........just curious.. and~~~~ is anyone from south carolina?.

Boot camp or basic training as we say over here, can be difficult, but also enjoyable. I went in all cocky, and came out with respect. My military service were the best days of my life. I've had more loyal friends there than anywhere else. Maybe something that the duds can learn about. Yes put them in boot camp. No as the others said relax and be proud of your daughter.

My marriage is over because Jehovah was not the third string

does anyone remember that saying from their dub days?

i heard through the family grape vine that is why my marriage is over.....because jehovah was not in it and did not bless it.

it did not upset me them saying this.

I can't stand that expression Jehovah's the third cord in your marriage. I said to my wife when studyibg the Family book, that it sounds like a kinky marriage. She wasn't impressed with my comments at the time.

what if the watchtower announced that they are not god's sole channel of spiritual truth?

along with this admission, would come an apology for all of the misleading and damaging predictions and past teachings.

what if they also dumped the disfellowshipping arrangement, as currently practiced, and allowed for respectful disagreement and disent, on issues such as blood transfusions and military service?

No. I wouldn't want to associate with those idiots who tried to ruin my life, nearly wrecked our marriage, slandered me without getting the facts, pressuring me to go to meetings saying that I was un-spiritual when I was extremely ill and house bound. I can go on forever about why I'll never return.

Does anyone else work away from home for extended periods?

i am preparing to work abroad for a six month stint.

not the first time i've done it, actually, i am semi-retired and have been doing it for 12 years now.. but...it doesn't get any easier.

i have to leave my wife, kids, comfortable home, motorcycles, many pets, and the sun and surf of the south pacific.. i have a week yet before i fly, but i started spinning real bad today.

I use to spend months away at sea with the navy,it didn't bother me then until about 5 years ago, when I had to spend two months away from wifey to attend a training course in London. Although I was home at weekends, it was one of my most miserable periods of my life. I know how difficult it must be for you Stealth.
