i'm very confused about this 144,000 / heaven thing, i thought i had everything correct, but i'm confused, and i'm very upset.. the bible is very hard to understand.. so i figure if i cant understand everything about who is going to heaven, i do understand that i'm not going, and i will infact survive armageddon and i will be in the new paradise earth - isaiah 65 verse 17<"not a jw teaching, it's a bible teaching(kjv)"........... anyway, peace!

Bad Association Seeded Useful Habits

i wouldn`t say i went out of my way to associate with, at the time people who were considered wordly but in life there is no avoiding having friends at school or work in dub life.

but once you start going to parties getting a beer here and there as a youth you start to see the light man.. the watchtower sees this as the evil thing but i guess that is why they pump all that association crap in the heads of the youth.

i say if you have a brain you will see that it is good association!.

Well, I'm not a drinker and just a boringly natural 'goody two-shoes'.

But I have to comment that that is good advice in the Bible to watch your associations because they can bring you down and confuse and distract you and even have ill effects on your faith.

The cognitive sonance in this situation is to realize and become aware that it is the brainwashed, cult-like, confused and FIRMLY AND RIGIDLY HELD beliefs of the JWs and the WTS that you have to watch out for.

There are some nice people there. No doubt. But tread carefully.

Because 'bad associations' really can 'spoil useful habits' (wonder how that reads in a NORMAL Bible. Irregardless, the point is the same....don't assume it just okay to hang with anybody no matter what. Some 'company' can hurt you. And not because they have a beer, either).

Some company can be destructive to the love of God which he is pouring out on you so that you might find a clear path to follow.

Unlike the Witnesses, we must love our neighbors, even our enemies.

But we don't have to be braindead about it.

Personally, I've disfellowshipped my close JWs. Not formally, but by action. Because they're just too twisted for me to be around.

I just can't 'go there' without feeling frustrated and angry. Baffled, mystified, horrified, judged, condemned and outraged. Instead, I will seek the peace of God in fellowship.

Unlike the Witnesses, I don't have a set of rules here. But you do what you can do and, for some of us, the right thing to do is to 'shake the dust from your feet' and be on your way.

Twisted souls like this, if you let them, could readily take ALL of your time, to go nowhere.

Family members of molested

who here has had a family member molested by a jw?.

my neice was molested by her jw step father.the elders went to court in his behalf.the congergation banned together and sent an avalanche of letters to the court, stateing that he was a good clean christian.the judge believed them over my 11 year old neice.he was sent back to live with her.. this was at an english speaking congergation in salinas california.if anyone knows an elder named deitrick(not sure of the spelling)beware!!

!he will protect and cover for pedophiles.

The 'pattern' is mind-boggling.

Overwhelming WTS Priorities !!! Proof !

the watchtower society often tells of how important the name "jehovah" is because it is used about 7,000 times in the hebrew scriptures.

there is some credibility to their logic as it suggests where priorities are.

using this approach, let's examine their "priorities" with respect to apostates vs pedophiles:.

If there is a way to check it (you could probably count them by hand!), I bet a huge percentage of those few uses were in that handful of recent magazine articles they keep dragging out as props whenever someone in the media confronts them or asks them for their comment.

By the way, the timing of those articles......they must have known somehow that something was going to be coming up fairly soon.
