  i am awaiting some material on how to free yourself from cult issues, and mind control.

  i was wondering if any of your have read any good books on this, and if you find it has helped in your recovery after leaving jw?.

  i am sure that the wt is not god's organization and all that goes with identifying myself as an ex jw.

  Watchtower Vertical Phonograph

  i remember hearing stories about how the witnesses would use phonographs in service (was this in the 1930's or 1940s?

  ) rather than actually talking to the person, but i had never seen a picture of one until now.

  i didn't know the mechanics of how it worked until i read this description:

  this is a very powerful programme !.

  the sound is a bit low so i'll have another go at encoding it better.

  Thanks.

  At the top, they know all of this. They keep files and they get reports of one child after another abused by the hands of the very same people, over and over.

  And they go to court to stand by the criminals. To assure them that they have friends and that they have God's blessing.

  What kind of people would do this? Only criminals themselves.

  Only people who want to create an assurance that when their turn comes, to be called to justice, someone will be standing by them, too.

  Can't help but notice how you quoted, quoted from the Bible as if you were the only one to ever read or understand the 'real meaning' of these scriptures and you could just spit them out left and right to get your points across. Very scripted.

  In the 'background', I could even hear all the many things you were told to lead you to comment as you did.

  Now I have a very hard question for you:

  Could anything have gotten through to you then? Think hard. What would have broken through?

  just for the sake of clarification and because it seems to be a 'forbidden' topic in jw circles.... let's talk psychology and the definition of sanity and not sanity.. in 'life', by the loose (but accurate) definition of western medicine, 'sanity' is nothing more than this:.

  "can you take care of yourself without hurting anyone else?".

  beyond that, no one cares if you think the moon is made of green cheese or charles russel is playing the bongos in your pantry.. no one is mandated to step in and help you and no one can legally stop you, as long as...'you can take care of yourself without hurting anyone else'.. .

  Let's talk psychology and the definition of sanity and not sanity.

  In 'life', by the loose (but accurate) definition of western medicine, 'sanity' is nothing more than this:

  "Can you take care of yourself without hurting anyone else?"

  Beyond that, no one cares if you think the moon is made of green cheese or Charles Russel is playing the bongos in your pantry.

  No one is mandated to step in and help you and no one can legally stop you, as long as...'you can take care of yourself without hurting anyone else'.

  Another very simple but much more useful definition of sanity, I think, is this one:

  Can you remember your past?

  Can you cope with the present?

  Can you plan for the future?

  Anyone having trouble with any of these will rather quickly see in which department their trouble lies.

  For all those many places in between, I very highly recommend the book, "The New Personality Self-Portrait; Why You Think, Work, Love and Act the Way You Do" by Oldham (you can read about it online at Amazon or other places).

  It's very positive and oriented toward a better understanding of youself (and others).

  Regarding the 'right of the victim to report', they could at least offer to help her reach the telephone. I mean he or she is probably too little!

  Regarding the molester never being unaccompanied....don't ALL JWs ALWAYS travel in pairs?

  Who ever heard of anyone not being allowed to witness alone - beyond this usual day-to-day 'policy'?

  Who ever was asked to accompany a witness in service or told that it was essential or why?

  What do you think of the notion that some of these guys might actually be 'playing with' and purposefully inducing dissociation - for their own protection, of course - in the children they abuse?
