we were the example of the congregation, we were to do no wrong!
the strickt life of being counselled everyday on everything!
but were we the worst, i did almost everything you were not suposed to do!
My wifes father was an Elder. To hear all the stories she tells. If she wasn't my wife I would'nt beleive her. Counseling her from the stage. The spankings being borderline child abuse. The finally having sex with the sisters he is supposed to be helping. That was his downfall.
Jehovah's Organization...yea right!!!

was it family, friends, the belief that this all was really true?
friends and family only.
.
are elders more spiritual or just better qualified to teach?
does the watchtower choose their leaders for their spirituality or their leadership?
My take on the matter is this. Anyone can be a MS or Elder. All you've got to do is fake it. It has nothing to do with Holy Spirit. Make all the meetings go out regularly in service, comment at all the meetings. Start reaching out for more responsibility. In other words just play the game. You can be a drunk you can smoke screw anything you want. Just continue to play the game. Look good in the Elders eyes and you to could be an Elder.

did you believe that you would be blessed by god by doing more in the organization?
did you see a relationship between being blessed by god and being active in the organization?
I was just thinking about this very thought this weekend. I was at the circuit assembly and all they talked about was blessings from Jehovah. They told all kinds of experiences where being faithful to Jehovah and putting him first will always pay off. Now heres the deal. A MS in my congo traveling to the assembly. His car breaks down. He is on the side of the road hoping someone he knows will reconize him and give him a hand. His 5 kids have to get to the assembly in 3 different cars that came at three different times. He stays back to work on the car with his wife.
The kids get to the assembly but by lunch time their parents still haven't made it. So we all give them part of our lunches to eat. (By the way these are young kids from 3-15). The parents finally make it half way through the 2nd half car still not fixed but at a shop where its going to cost about 200.00 to repair.
Why couldn't a loving God help this family make it to the assembly safely. Maybe the MS is not as faithful as I think he is. What other reason could there be.

what are some of the stupidest comments made in the watchtower, or by a circuit overseer or elder that you've never forgotten?
the one about" the rapist being human" too, ranks right up there....like we're supposed to feel bad for him?
When my wife became emotionally involved with a MS. The elders blamed me because I was not having a family study. Exact words...Maybe if you were having a regular family study this would not have happened...Maybe if I put my foot in that MS ASS this would not happen again.

i'm just curious.
how many of you were elders or ministerial servants or pioneers?
were you an elder or ms or pioneer when you realized it wasn't the truth or a had you stepped down already, were you "weak" when you realized it?
I started having doubts when I was being groomed to be a MS. I agree with the poster who said that they think you are so far into it they don't hide anything.
When I was just a publisher with no responsibilty I saw nothing or heard nothing. But when I started running with the big boys I saw and heard it all. Then the doubts started to creep in. Now I'm doing the slow fade. I was a better witness when I didn't know anything.

name you could call an old, bitter, hateful, ungrateful, sour woman?
i need some options when i next speak to my mother-in-law...
WIFEY...Just kidding my wife is a great women even if she is still a dub.
how did you like being called brother or sister, when you were in public.
i remember once i was inside a bank waiting in line, and all of a sudden , a brother also waiting in line, said to me quite loud, hello brother x .
i felt like a jerk, being called brother in front of everyone there.
I once had my daughters babysitter pick her up from my job. Since we were having a pot luck I asked her to stay for a while. The whole time she is calling me Brother Diamond. She knows some of the people on my job and she is calling all of them by their first names or Mr or Mrs. It just sounded so weird. Some of my co-workers even started calling me that as a joke. That Brother stuff is fine at the Hall and at gatherings but not outside of that it just sound strange.

anyone here have an elder in their congregation who thought he was the head of the congregation ?.
the elder in our congregation was looked up to as god himself by the faithful dubs in the cong.
hence in circles he was nicknamed "the pope".. he even had his own reserved seat in the kingdom hall which no -one dared sit in, it was the only chair in the hall that had armrests on it.....and that was "the popes" seat.
We had a brother just like that. In fact they never called the congregation by its name they called it Brother Smith's congregation. It was so bad he started to believe the hype and was doing his own thing in the congregation. Soon he got a call from Bethal. He had to go to NY and take a beating. He's still around but very humble now.
