  How do I pray?

  being a dub all my life i only know how to pray the dub way.

  you know the robotic, saying the samething the sameway using all the dub language and expression.

  now that i'm taking matters in my own hands i find that i really don't know how to pray.

  Being a dub all my life I only know how to pray the dub way. You know the robotic, saying the samething the sameway using all the dub language and expression. Now that I'm taking matters in my own hands I find that I really don't know how to pray. When I pray my way it doesn't feel right. I know this sounds silly but does anyone have any suggestions to get me started.

  A good friend of mine said just do it. Just talk like you are talking to a close friend. I try that but I don't feel like God and I are close. How do I get that close personal feeling with God and Christ. I want that warm feeling in my heart that I hear so many others speak of. I want to know that God and Jesus really love me and are hearing my prayers.

  To many this may sound silly but I am serious.

  when you were a devout witness, what were the teachings that you couldnt accept, even though you believed most of the rest?.

  As everyone knows I'm simple. What bothered me was the fact that the Elders and MS servants were appointed by God. And then the first time they got DF everyone is saying "Well remember they are only human." Come on!!! You can't have it both ways. So just drop that appointed by God crap and just admit they are only human. There is nothing special about any of them!!

  So Why Bother To Go At All, Then?

  ok, so it's the memorial tonight, i believe.. i need some help with this one.

  i know that jesus said to "keep doing this in remembrance of me", but, what i don't understand is this:.

  just where does jesus say to "keep doing this, everybody turn up, but only one or two of you can take the emblems, everybody else must watch the proceedings and not join in"?.

  Last year at the Memorial a sister about 50 years old drank the wine and ate the bread. Everyone freaked out because know one knew. Her husband did not partake. After the Memorial everyone was asking questions and gossiping. It was really funny. Can't wait for tonight to see if she partakes again.

  I'm going, out of love for my wife and my mother. My wife knows I'm not into it,my mother does not have a clue. Afterwards were are going out for dinner. I won't drink wine but I'll have a couple of shots of JD.

  what are you doing on thursday?.

  are you going to be attending the kingdumb hall to please relatives or friends?.

  have a virtual hug {{{{{{{{{{{{you}}}}}}}}}}}}}} if you are, we know it won't be easy.. i almost got pressured into it, but a good friend and i have decided to hit the clubs and go dancing (girls night out, yeah!)..

  Call me a coward. But since I'm the only one that knows I'm not a dub anymore.(I've left in my heart) I'm going to te Memorial and even going out to dinner afterwards with dub friends and family. I truly hope this is my last Memorial.

  how did going to the kingdom hall, interfere with your tv viewing?

  i love watching american football, so right after the meeting all in my family would go straight for the car, so we could catch as much as possible.

  The worse is when you have 3 congregations meeting at the same hall. And you're stuck at a time whn you have to miss a football game. But I can remember on Superbowl Sunday how crowded our meeting was. People visiting... Elders included, so they could get home early and catch the game.

  Who remembers Cake Nights?

  at the book studies?

  they were the highlight of the month.. thing is, all the sisters would try to outdo each other making nice food, which amused me no end, and also kept my stomach filled up, but drove me nuts, because my mother would spend the entire afternoon making a giant racket in the kitchen and screaming @ my sister whilst doing it, just to bake a cool cake for the book study.. also, remember those last ~15 minutes before the end of cake night book studies?

  This still goes on at the Book Study I sometimes attend. The first Monday of the month. Only we call it goodie night. Everyone brings cake and snacks and all kinds of goodies. Its also the only time my 9 year is glad to go to the meeting.

  something that always bothered me was society's policy of putting restrictions on people for wrong doing.

  folks get reinstated, and full restrictions its like being punished and when you and then punished again how loving.

  its just another way the borg uses to control people.

  Have you noticed that when you lose your privileges for anything other than being DF that they take everything from you except field service. You can't carry the mics, you can't comment,you can't give talks but you damn sure can continue to go out in field service. Keep placing those mags and books. Back in the day when I was a bad J-Dub. Field Service is the one thing I wish they would take from me. But I guess thats more of a favor than a punishment.
