Anyone hurt my girls!

with all of this talk of the recent predator i discussed with my wife what i would do to someone that did that to one of my girls.... may be controversial but.... caveat: my wife was a victim of attempted rape when she was a teen (non-witness) and then was also molested as a kid on a trip in the caribbean.

my sibling was also abused sexually.. all i will say is that i saw a video a few years back of a father who's son was kidnapped and raped by his karate teacher.

when the teacher was extradited and returned to the states the dad was there pretending to talk on the phone and then turned around and put a bullet in the sickos head.. can't say that that wouldn't be my reaction if anyone hurt my girls!.

Dear 5th Generation,

I too, contimplated the thought of anyone touching my children. I would not have hesitated to kill, mutilate or castrate anyone violating my boys, prison be damned. They are now 19 and 22 having the same feelings about their mother should she ever be harmed. I will not go into details but one of my boy's friends felt the need to comment about me on "my space" in a sexual manner. My youngest son read what he wrote and promptly beat the tar out of him. Needless to say that comment was off the internet the next day.

Being a Christian has nothing to do with it. This is survival, and protection of innocent children and their well being. If our government cannot protect them to the fullest extent it is our responsibility to do so.

NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

What is the most objectionable thing you have heard off the platform?

i know many have quoted ridiculous statements from the assemblies etc., i just wonder what irked you most off of the platform in your own kh.. the one that sticks out in my mind was when we had a guest speaker on a sunday for the public talk.

i don't remember the theme but his main point was the starving people in africa did not need food.

he stated they needed spiritual food and would opt for that over a meal because they realize they could eat in the new order and there was no need to send any donations directly.

I woke up to my JW mom reading JW literature to my stomach

i know that sounds weird.

i am pregnant with my first child and my mom is visiting me for a few days.

i was laying on the couch taking a nap and she was sitting down and reading to my stomach.

Don't worry, your baby did not comprehend any voices. What he/she can hear is music and the voice of their own mom. Play the masters, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, etc.

Pick your favorites, this will be to the babies benefit throughout his/her life. Once born, your baby will listen again. My first born was miserable but always settled to the classics. I would lay him in front of the speakers when he couldn't stop crying and he would stop, his eyes would get wide and he would listen.

Anyone can talk or yell at your stomach, but they will not make a dent into your child's future. Only you and your husband will make that mark.

She's Back! With a question about guns & JWs

hey, guys.... looooooong time no see.

some of you might remember me but it's been a very long time.

still in grad school, and have a new (sort of) hobby.. i've always liked guns.

I'm not personally a fan of fire arms, but had to purchase one after my husband took on an emploee that threatened our family and our children.

We put it away in a closet with the bullets seperated about 6 feet off the floor. My little boys one day got a chair, climbed up and discovered this fire arm. That was the end of it for me.

Just my experience, and I don't know how the JW's view it, but I will never have another gun in my home.

My father the logical thinker he was, asked us as children, how Adam and Eve knew about death before their son Abel was killed. None of us could figure it out. He said they witnessed the animals dieing. It seemed to make sense and I don't think animals will ever have eternal life. Sad as it may be for all of us animal lovers!

Someone I am sure will have another view point, this is just mine.

WHAT MAKES EX-JW'S UNIQUE TO CREATE A DISCUSSION FORUM LIKE THIS?

there are millions world wide leaving their centuries old organized religions, why are ex-jw's joining together to create a fellowship and support system?.

are we the forerunners of something big?.

do we share something unique and don't know it?

In just about every area of life you can have closure and move on when changing your mind.

You can change your job with 2 weeks notice, move to where you want to live, sell your car, redecorate, change schools,etc.or change religions, and no one will question your motives, beliefs, or you as a decent person.

But with the JW's there is rarely closure unless you were in temporarily with no family involved, most likely you can walk out.

The norm with the WTS is if you change your mind you are labeled, shunned, embarressed, separated from any family still involved and made to feel worthless in the eyes of their society. Your very being is questioned.

They will not "just let you leave" or "Fade" ....Old members are continually abused by "in family members", or friends. You can be gone 30 years, (my case) and family members involved will take it upon themselves to punish by shunning at any given time they are instructed to.)

This religion does not leave x members alone.

Any wonder there are websites to deal with this.

Operation Tomorrow

just to let you all know why i won't be able to post for some time...i am finally getting in to the hospital for a much-needed operation that kept being postponed.

i have been back and forth to three different hospitals and various doctor's offices for tests, x-rays, consults and then more pre-op tests and x-rays.

(i have never heard of "nuclear testing before now...i wondered if they were going to send me to nasa!

Were you ever made an example of off the platform of your KH?

when i was in my teens, i had spent the night at a jw's girlfiriend's house.

we stayed up most of the night but were required to get to the kh the next morning for the sunday meeting.

i sat in the back row and apparently nodded off.

When I was in my teens, I had spent the night at a JW's girlfiriend's house. We stayed up most of the night but were required to get to the KH the next morning for the Sunday meeting.

I sat in the back row and apparently nodded off. The Watchtower conducter did not like the fact that I was sleeping and called my name from the platform to read a scripture he had just quoted. Of course I didn't know what it was and there was a mad scramble from all those around me to point out the scripture I was to read and someone handed me a bible pointing to it.

He then lectured from the platform it was important that teenagers were to be at home and in bed on the weekends.

From that point on I was never allowed to spend the night anywhere.
