  1975 for deniers.

  most of today's jws were not members in 1975 or in the 9 years prior to 1975, so they were not eyewitnesses to what really went on during that period.

  i was a pioneer in that period, and i was an eyewitness to what went on.. those jws who are still active today and who were around in that period will typically say it was the "brothers" who "ran ahead of jehovah" and "read more into" the 1975 prediction than what was actually stated.

  Mary, that talk by Franz gave me the "willies". Not only his voice, and obvious making it up as he went along, but the laughter and clapping about, "This is all we can say" (snicker, snicker)....straight from the GB.

  It was like saying, We all know whats going to happen THIS FALL IN 1975, and too bad for you if you don't listen to us. We will watch as you die and be eaten by all the birds in heaven. Take that you naysayers and criticizers of our direct line to god. You will all soon be dead..... YEAAAAAA !!!!!CLAP, CLAP, CLAP, LAUGH LAUGH.....SHHHHH....WE NEVER SAID A WORD.

  Ah yes the great little blue book in'68. I was about 10 years old and remember going door to door with it , ....25 cents if I remember correctly.

  The 6 month dead line was serious. Those still studying in other publications were told to wrap it up, get in or your out. The "Truth book" gave you a six month window.

  The panic ratcheted up so bad it was insane. What has been left out of the history, is the importance of tattling on your companions, young and old alike. If you heard, or suspected anything it was to be reported to the elders immediately.....so that they could save your ass from 1975. This included wive/husbands reporting on each other, including bedroom stuff. Children tattling on their parents.....You bet families pulled up stakes and disappeared to the outskirts of this country. 2 of my uncles did with 5 kids each, one denies it to this day.

  Thankfully my mom admits it, and really gets pissed if anyone tries to deny it.

  It was an absolute frenzy. For those that deny any of this....you are a liar and a curse on you. You know it happened.

  Pw....my heart goes out to you. It was virtually the same thing for me, just 36 years ago. It was reversed, but the JC meetings never leave my inner being, especially twice.

  Forget about getting back in, its just more hassle than its worth, and those that shun will always shun. You also compromise yourself trying to make those people happy.

  Here was my aftermath.....

  After being Df'd In January of 1974 at 16, I knew I had to get to the KH immediately to prove my worth. My dad was an elder, my mom a pioneer, I had supposedly greatly besmirched Gods name and the family name. The very next meeting I started getting ready, but my parents were not. I told them we have to go. They reluctantly got ready....many years later admitting to me they went downstairs and had a couple of Martinis in order to deal with the ordeal.

  No such numbing for a 16 year old. I sat in the back of the hall for 3 months and never missed a meeting. I ran to the car during the concluding songs. At one of the meetings my life long best friend came up and hugged me...she was later told by one of the DFing elders that she was not to touch me as I was a piece of trash.

  I spent 3 Months alone, in my room. I left high school, but was still able to graduate that summer because I had enough credits. I spent that winter watching Roots. I totally identified with that movie. I was alone....I even felt guilty talking to my own parents. I was really absolutely alone especially during the torturous meetings where people looked, whispered, and made a huge deal of shunning me.

  That late March I went through another JC and it was reversed....then I also REVERSED....I never went back and left home about 6 months later. I WILL NEVER GO BACK...EVER!

  Don't go back. It doesn't pay. Be true to yourself.

  Babygirl, technically.....it never happened....it was erased from the congregations records and at head quarters....

  but I still exist. I have never stopped feeling the pain. They can erase all the like,....they can't erase me.

  Fantastic question.....lets go back to 1974, I was 16.

  First Elder: Later found out he was having an affair with the mother, that I was babysitting for the entire time....5 boys. He's dead now.

  Second Elder: A wife abuser, his daughter was close to 300 pounds at age 13, and his son wasn't far off. Update: His wife died of a heart attack in her 40's....don't know what happened to the kids.

  3rd, elder was a bald headed idiot made an elder straight out of Bethel in his 20's. A real pisser. He wound up having a red headed kid that screamed bloody murder from the day he was born.

  4Th, elder....real popular...good speaker, great sense of humor....also had a red headed kid that gave him hell. The only elder to apologize to me.....too little too late.

  5Th elder: Lots of money, no kids, and his wife was a sweetheart... she sent me a wonderful card.

  Second group assigned by the Society:

  I have no idea, just 4 more men from another hall and they reversed the decision, after a torturous session that no teenager should ever have to go through, much less twice.

  Outcome: The decision to DF was reversed. Outcome for me? Utter depression, panic, hate, loathing, ....of my self and JW's.....

  What would any one expect from a 16 year old girl....I was destroyed.

  It has taken years to recover, and sometimes I don't think I ever did.

  Elsewhere, Florida is also getting absolutely ridiculous.

  We just can't shut off the air in summer or the heat during the bad months. My bills range anywhere between 300.00 to 500.00 a month.

  Water just increased by 10 percent.

  Progress Energy is fighting to increase rates again....for what? That we have power outages/surges almost daily, after hurricanes they can't restore power for days, we have all above ground wiring, and they just installed digital readers in most homes.

  Yep.....I'm ready to pay more once again.

  Surprise!!!! They have already worked their way around congress and the lame axx health bill before it ever goes into effect, in fact, it gave them the idea how to charge more. Next it will be parking fees, pay toilets, and maybe like lawyers will charge by the minute fee for phone calls.
