Goodbye all

i cant remember whos who, so very happy that we have many many new ones,,,, .
let me tell you i love you all ...i have been so respected by you all & shown much unconditional love..... i know many have my home e-mail..... so if any want to - they know what to do.. i have been on here a long time.... gus,gus ( my wonderful daughter still posts on occasions.

Lifetime raised JW's did you find your parents sick with obsession?
by restrangled inwhat has come back to me and what i have realized through this website is that my mother was probably mentally very sick with this religion for most of her life.. it was a sickening obsession to obey, tattle, feel extreme guilt, turn in family members, and never, ever measure up no matter what she did.
endless months of pioneering, meeting attendance and studying for meetings were not enough .....ever....she is now 73 years old and still trying to pioneer in the exhausting heat of florida.
in her full time pioneering days she came down with breast cancer.

What has come back to me and what I have realized through this website is that my mother was probably mentally very sick with this religion for most of her life.
It was a sickening obsession to obey, tattle, feel extreme guilt, turn in family members, and never, ever measure up no matter what she did. Endless months of pioneering, meeting attendance and studying for meetings were not enough .....ever....She is now 73 years old and still trying to pioneer in the exhausting heat of Florida. In her full time pioneering days she came down with breast cancer. Her mindset? Just let me get beyond the treatment so I can get back out in service. She felt so guilty about not getting her time in she had to go to the elders to get the OK in her mind to get treatment. She even confided with a DO because she felt so guilty about being registered as a fulltime pioneer and not fullfiling her promise to the Society. THIS IS SO G..D.....SICK!
Fast Forward 10 years:
She bought a home large enough to host the book study, 2000 square feet for an old widow this is a lot of square footage to maintain. She is within 2 walking blocks of the KH.
The above life outlook was in turn firmly instilled in her children. We never could please her, or the society. No matter how good we were, or how much we did, the bottomless pit could not be filled. I myself have been miserable trying to balance my own life and her expectations, I have one brother dead at 19, and a younger brother a wild Harley rider covered in Tatoos who has no use for anyone. He hates my mother, and he and I don't really get along although I always adored him when he was little.
It just goes on and on.

Dear Drew,
I found your numbers interesting but hugely under estimated. Family study, ours was 1 hour and had to be prepared for ahead of time like the meetings.
We also had a pre watchtower family study that had to be pre-prepared for the big watchtower study on Sunday with prepared answers. There had to be at least 4 answers prepared incase you didn't get called on and one answer at the big meeting was not enough.
Then we had family study for the Tuesday night book study because it was held in our home.
We also had big prep work for Thursday Ministry school meeting, and god help you if you had a talk. We were always there 30 minutes ahead of time and at least 1 hour afterwards. So on a school night I would not be in bed before 11:00 pm. Any other night, bedtime 9:00 pm.
When my father was given a Sunday talk, the prep work went on for weeks with all of us having to listen as he practiced. Thankfully my father usually did a slide presentation.
We had to have a sermon practiced for field service and the WT and Awake studied so we knew what we were presenting.
Between school, the meetings and prep for meetings, I had no life. No free time much like the kids today sent to too many outside activities.
Outside reading material was frowned upon, and any school work I had that could possibly introduce a witnessing was pushed big time.
I kept "normal" reading material for a teenager under my bed or in between my mattress as if I had porno magazines!
My mother even introduced a special study to cover topics such as masturbation and dating with my best friends in the truth. Their mother being her best friend. She would call this mother and insist there had to be a special bible study with all of us girls to cover these topics.
I would say at least 50% of my waking hours were spent indoctrinated.
So Drew, I am doubling your estimates!

Anyone have a favorite dish for the grill they are willing to share?

its the middle of summer, i am trying to keep 3... 6 footers fed and can only serve steak or hamburgers so many nights.. its too hot to heat up the oven and i am running out of ideas.. any grill miesters out there willing to share your favorite recipe would be appreciated, including marinades, veggie side dishes etc.. many thanks in advance.
(yes i know this isn't a cooking forum, but we all have to eat and thought it would be fun for everyone!).

Dear Daniel P,
We actually have 6 computers, 2 personal the rest business. The 2 personal are always shut down. The dust is almost uncontrollable around the business computers, I vacuum daily.
As far as windows, double glazed are unheard of in Florida. I do have huge trees on the North side of the house and small on the south side, but most of the windows are on the north. Last year our bill was about $250.00 a month, and we replaced all the appliances 6 months ago trying to stick to energy star rated.
My hotwater heater is only 3 years old.
Yikes, were going to go broke if this keeps up!

FLUFF WARNING......Dog owners/anyone watch the Dog Whisperer?

but after watching the dog whisperer i have been preparing for my new adoption with hopes of being more in control.. low and behold i'm cleaning my garage today and a neighbor strolled by with a huge dog.
i waved and came into the street to see her new "monster" size dog.

Low and behold I'm cleaning my garage today and a neighbor strolled by with a huge dog. I waved and came into the street to see her new "monster" size dog. Remembering what I learned, I took on the attitude of a dominant person. Her dog, a full grown Irish Wolf Hound jumped back from me so fast it was embarrassing.
Apparently the techniques work!
Also I had two huge loose pit bulls come into my backyard and I instantly panicked, caught myself and became the one in charge. Without saying a word I started pointing to them to get out without saying a word and they ran like hell.
Anybody else watching this series?
