  There are four qualitfying components of mind control, page 66 of his book says:

  "behavior control, thought control, emotional control, and information control, each form

  of control has great power and influence on the human mind. Together, they form a totalistic

  web, which can manipulate even the strongest-minded people. In fact, it is the strongest-minded

  individuals who make the most involved and enthusiastic cult members."

  The Jehovah's Witness religion is bad for a society.

  the jehovah's witness religion is destructive to families and debilitates personal, individual development.. it corrupts and weakens any society which allows it to thrive..

  without explaining details, this is as concise a statement as i can make regarding the entire witness structure.

  The organization of Jehovah's Witnesses operate as a GOVERNMENT WITHIN A GOVERNMENT.

  When they do not disclose to the CIVIL AUTHORITIES the crimes that are commited by their members, such as child molestation, and among many others, that is illegal.

  The decision to make it a policy to stop all communications by the members to anyone that is disfellowshipped or branded as a apostate, involves millions many times over for family members, friends and extended families world wide. A GREAT HARM DONE BY ONE CULT.

  i am a "cradle" catholic and have been very involved with the church.

  i started to become disillusioned several months back with all of the tradition, habits, and teachings of the church--which i began to seriously doubt.

  It is very wise of you to check everything out before making a decision as important as this one. This decision will not only affect you personally, but everyone you love and care about.

  The scriptures tells us Satan transforms himself as an angel of light. 2 Cor. 11:14, which basically means that there is some truth in all religions.

  All the above comments are profound and true, we have been there and experienced the harsh hand of this CULT.

  I was raised as a JW and married a JW. My husband was an elder for over 15 years. It was at this time we started to recognize the organization was more political than scriptural. When we resigned in 1983. We lost one of our daughters to this cult for 10 years. Because she was not allowed to talk to us, I decided to rejoin and become a member again, only so I could eventually show her their cult-like errors This took 2 years, because of her dominate elder husband, also a (child molester). I was sucessful in my rescue attempt, but there was a lot of heartache and tears we all went through before it was over.

  I wrote a book about my 2 year rescue experience, so that I could help educate the un-informed and give comfort to those that are suffering now, having lost one of their own loved ones to this cult.

  Question about shunning from someone who has never been a JW....

  i wondered, since the jws claim that jesus is their teacher, what evidence do they have of jesus shunning "bad associations"?

  it seems to me, from reading the bible, that the religious people of his day really gave him a hard time, because he actually spent the majority of his time with "bad associates", rather than shunning them.

  thomas, though he followed jesus, wasn't totally convinced.

  What a excellent question, This format the organization has on disfellowshipping has always bothered me when I was a JW. (over 40 years).

  Yes, It is imperative if you want to be a true christian to choose your association that reflex your christian principles. Apostle Paul admonished the individual christians to mark the one in the congregation that is not obedient to the word and stop associating with him. 2 Thess. 3:14. It was an individual choice.

  Where I disagree with the JW's is when they cross the line by assuming that responsibility for you and your conscience. The elder's decide for you behind closed doors, and no one knows why someone is put on probation or disfelloweshipped. When ancient Israel judged individuals, it was at the city gates, and all Israel was able to see for themselves if justice was carried out. This is why the JW's are terrified with this mal- treatment. Reminds me of the gestopo Hitler days. My understanding is only Christ is the judge on everlasting life, not inperfect man. The poor JW thinks they are being judged now if they will live forever. Reminds me of what Apostle Paul told some of the christians back then, you are judging before your time.

  I WAS IN THE SAME CONGREGATION WITH THE EMSHOFF FAMILY DURING MY TEEN YEARS IN OMAHA, NEBR, THERE WAS ONLY 2 CONGREGATIONS THEN, NORTH AND SOUTH UNIT AND THE ADDRESS WAS 1616 VINTON ST...I CAN'T BELIEVE I REMEMERED THAT ADDRESS !!!!! MY BEST FRIEND WAS HIS SISTER, I BELIEVE HER NAME WAS ERMA, THEY ALL HAD RED HAIR EXCEPT THE OLDER BROTHER, ELDON. I REMEMBER ALL OF THEM AS SWEET AND SINCERE PEOPLE. DON WAS ESPECIALLY SPECIAL, HIS NATURE WAS THE SERIOUS LOYAL AND DEVOTED TYPE.

  WELL NOW THAT HE IS PERSONALLY AFFECTED BY THE WTS, HIS EYES WILL BE OPENED AND SEE THEM FOR WHAT THEY ARE......A C U L T

  IF ANYONE ELSE KNOWS HIM FROM THAT TIME PERIOD...MAYBE WE KNOW EACH OTHER !!

  James 1:27 says: "The form of worship that is clean and undefiled from the standpoint of our God and Father is this; to look after orphans and widows in their tribulation"

  Why are JW's discouraged to be envolved in chartable works? It is all part of their cult-like scheme to isolate the witnesses, have no feelings for the human race, the poor and needy. After all, isn't everyone else already dead in God's eyes because they are going to die (everlastingly) at Armageddon?

  Question: Why is the SCROLL OF LIFE mentioned in Revelation opened TO JUDGE ALL, at the end of the thousand years, not at the so-called time of Armageddon? Am I wrong to understand that Rev. 16: 15 may only mean a time for exposing ( 'Happy is the one that stays awake and keeps his outer garments, that he might not walk naked and people look upon his shamefulness' )

  I am glad you joined us, please give us alittle more info on your bio. Did you ever personally know any JW's? One of my solutions to my personal healing process after I resigned, I went undercover, back into the lion's den of this cult to rescue my daughter and two granddaughters, even though it took two years, it was worth it.

  Would love to hear any healing suggestions you might have for those that are suffering now from the mal-treatment of this cult.
