How do I help my kids not buy into the JW thing?

first a little bit about myself.

i'm not a jw.

but i'm married to a jw lady who is very dedicated to it all.

JW children are taught that who they are is bad and they need to become something else to be loved by god.

They are taught that their own natural desires and feelings are bad and that they SHOULD feel and think in the way that the society prescribes.

They are taught not to trust themselves, to only trust the society.

Children rasied in JW land will not learn good healthy self-esteem, because emotionally healthy people do not make good obediant members.

GO to an assembly, go to the meetings, see how much they emphasize OBEDIANCE to themselves, unquestioning obediance! Is that what you want for your children?

What did you look like as a JW?

i was going through some old photos today, i found one of myself when i was a devout jw.

it was really shocking!

i'm so thin, my cheeks are hollow, i'm as white as the wall behind me, i'm standing hunched over, and in my eyes you can see real misery.

I've grown into MY own, not my family's own.

yes, what was the biggest lie that you can think of, that persuaded you to realize that they were not who they said they were ?.

for myself it would have to be the year they picked as the destruction of ancient jerusalem 607 bc.. i have an assumption this was done purposely to coincide correctly with making 1914 an a important pivotal date.

in human history, which by all factual evidence it was not.. unassuming and deceiving manipulation for self marketing purposes.

I noticed at the meeting that JW's are very negative

The whining convention of the hypochrondiacs - all chiming in order, oh - look how sick everyone is except for us.

That's a great one sentence desription of the assemblies!

I had the monopoly on mid-calf length floral dresses. Home made of course.

I would sew a new one for each day of the assemblies.

I wore a great deal more make-up then I do now. And I had a lot of high heeled shoes purses and accessories. And one dresser drawer was packed with assorted pantyhose.

I spent a lot of time on my hair too.

That was one of the things I brgan noticing as I was exiting, just how negative they were.

It didn't matter what it was, they could put a negative spin on it. And they did.

I've been out for about 15 years now, and I have yet to find any other group as negative, or as sexually obsessed as the JW's are.

i knew of a handful (which is too many) that were molested by a jehovah's witness.

it was not typical in my experience.

Homer with a tyvek suit he would have no need to wash anything. They are very light weight (like paper) and you have booties to cover your shoes, gloves on your hands and a light weight mask covering your face with possibly a pair of safely glasses.

you turn it inside out as you take it off and nothing gets on your skin, period, there is nothing to wash off. Then the whole disposable mess will fit in a small bag an he can literally toss it and the weapon in any number of places. They will burn up very quickly.

I have used these suits before, you can paint an intire house with your finest clothes on, the tyvek will keep you and all your clothes spotless.

CO´s en DO´s are elders just like the Secratary and the Cotboe are elders(and the GB members are also elders), so they should be included in the total count of elders. MS´s and the rest are not.

Point being though is this still only represents a small fraction of the congregation and they are using weasel words to purposefully make the numbers seem small.

Also note that THEY have not admitted to being sued, only independant elders.

'I find it hard to believe that he could bludgeon to death his wife with the baby in the same room, ransack his home disconnect a full size computer, bash in the side door of his garage , take a shower to wash off all of the blood spatter and change his cloths, leave a 6 month old baby in a crib, then calmly drive off to Starbuc ''

The wife was sleeping, all those things could have been done while she slep, leaving the murder for last.

Then he put on a tyvek suit and bludgeoned his wife. Then off he went to grab some coffee, dropping off the tyvek suit and the murder weapon on the way. HE had plenty of time.

I think being all clean and spotless was his big plan to get hisself off scot free, "see I don't have a spot of blood on me, I couldn't have done it!"

However the law knows about tyvek suits too and really, if he were innocent he should have some blood on him. If you came home and your wife was lying in a pool of blood wouldn't you try to help her? wouldn't you scoop her up or at least see if she was breathing or where the blood was coming from?

Or would you stand back at a safe spotless distance and say "honey, are you OK" like Kelly said he did?
