  well ive done it.

  i visited the kennels today for a look at some retired greyhounds and reserved this one.

  Somebody made a good point. You sould find out what his previous owner named him.

  He has never had a name and has never answered to anything even though he's nearly 5. He's always been a racing greyhound.

  Thanks for the suggestions so far.

  I think Basil would remind me of Fawlty Towers, don't know if you've ever seen that the other side of the pond, but Basil is a character John Cleese made famous. Also i can't use Chap, i live in an area of England known as the black country, we call men and women, chaps and wenches here.

  But i will let you all know on Monday what we're going to call him.

  i wanted to say thank you to the wbts for enforcing a 'no-contact' rule on all those that have left the organization.. only by experiencing first-hand my former best-friends treating me like a complete stranger (see 'garbage') for standing up for my own beliefs was i finally able to tell the society 'good-bye' forever and not feel guilty about it.. i know this was not the wbts's intention from the alienation practice.

  it's intention was to make me feel guilty and lonely enough to come back to them.

  however, it has backfired on them and finally given me my freedom.. thank you, society, for lacking kindness and understanding.

  Thanks for the suggestions. Ive only just managed to log on for the first time since last night, so sorry for not responding earlier.

  There is one or two in there i like.

  I like duke, sandy, but i think streak is the forerunner at the moment. I also like zero, because he has zero more races, so maybe something along the line of that.

  But the kids will decide the weekend so keep em coming. Or maybe just put them all into a hat and pull one out.

  P.S it has Jerry over the photo but that is what the owner of the kennels has called him for their files. At the moment he doesn't answer to anything, just has a race name for the punters.

  I will be having a home check done on Sunday, which hopefully will be ok, although i have to fix a broken fence panel. I should then be able to pick him up on Monday for a weeks trial.

  He's a gorgeous dog, i have taken him for a walk and great on the lead. He's 4 years old, fawn in colour and a good healthy size.

  He only has a race name, i have been told it goes along the line of franco something, but it's longwinded. However he doesn't answer to any name being a racer. I dont think Frank is a good name, which the kennel staff have called him.

  So i want a poll! Then i will consult with the decision makers...my kids.

  I am going to bed now so will check in in the morning. The winner will be declared on Monday.

  from what i can see allah has the same root (meaning) as yahweh {jehovah).

  "i am"; "i shall prove to be what i shall prove to be"; .

  apparently, from what i have read, allah in arabic actually means "god", just like "el" or .

  I have often wondered this myself. Your right JCanon when you say that Arabs are descendents from Abraham too, so there may well be a link.

  Diary of a thinking to return ex-Jw

  i thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.

  i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!

  she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .
