Plus if you're ever this side of the pond i'd take you to a game
i have closely followed the premier league for the last 13 matchdays, and i am getting ready to pick a team that i will not only follow this year but for the foreseeable future.
i am not interested in chelsea, manchester u., manchester city or arsenal.
all four remind me of teams i loathe in american sports (cowboys, yankees, celtics).

maybe the effect of this change is bigger than realized?
in 1995, it was discussed (positively) by everybody, during the week we studied the wt.
one elder stepped down and was looked down upon.

What if the person with whom I was speaking at the coffee shop those ten minutes was a brother in good standing; would that be direct worship to God? No, it would not.
Why not?
What if the person with whom I was speaking at that coffee shop those ten minutes was a brother not in good standing, someone that had been disfellowshipped; would that be direct worship to God? No, it would not.
Why not?
I think you're forgetting Jesus' words...
For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.....Matthew 18:20
ireland swallows bitter pill, asks eu for loan .
debt-crippled ireland formally applied sunday for a massive eu-imf loan to stem the flight of capital from its banks, joining greece in a step unthinkable only a few years ago when ireland was a booming celtic tiger and the economic envy of europe.. european union finance ministers quickly agreed in principle to the bailout, saying it "is warranted to safeguard financial stability in the eu and euro area.
" but all sides said further weeks of negotiations loomed to define the fund's terms, conditions and precise size.. ireland's crisis, set off by its foundering banks, drove up borrowing costs not only for ireland but for other weak links in the eurozone such as spain and portugal.
Why did Ireland decided to insure it's banks against ALL losses ??
Because at the time there had just been a run on the British bank Northern Rock, it came to light that the British Government only insured for the first £35,000 and Ireland saw insuring against all losses as a way for the British to transfer deposits from their bank accounts into Irish ones. A quick input of money into their economy, they saw it as an opportunity that has now blown back on them.

Just a quick correction before i post....it looks like you're looking for an English football team, not British! The scots have their own league and the Welsh only have 3 teams in the English league, apart from that they also have their own league,
Anyway why not go for Wolverhampton Wanderers!!
We may be sitting 2nd from bottom at the moment, but have the greatest fan base, we're the hardest working team in the Premiership. We have the USA goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann If Los Angeles Galaxy are you team at the moment, Wolves won the American League in 1967, we played in America along with 12 other English teams as Los Angeles Wolves. We have a great history formed in 1877 and was one of the founder members of the league in 1888. We were the best in England during the 1950's and 60's. We currently have an Irish manager, along a number of Irish players aswell as Scot, Welsh, French and of course English amongst others.
We may not be top of the league, but we are the greatest football team the world has ever seen!

'Even active current JWs know that the JWs were predicting the end of the world before the generation of 1914 passed away.
What you say here is not true for the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses. You may have been guilty of making predictions that were not supported by God's word as to when Armageddon would arrive when you were one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and you may have been in association with some who persuaded you to this opinion, but I've never done this, for I shared with others how we understood Jesus' words at Matthew 24:34 and neither have other Jehovah's Witnesses done this, for our providing such explanations is not the same as if we were using uncanny power and pushing ahead in cooperation with the demons. (1 Samuel 15:23) Were this the case, 55-year-olds in 1965 with a life expectancy of age 70 might have expected Armageddon to arrive before 1980, and it would really have been presumptuous for anyone calling himself or herself one of Jehovah's Witnesses to have been predicting a specific date for Armageddon, which you might have done, @lisaBObeesa, but the majority of Jehovah's Witnesses never did.'
Bullsh*t! .... i was there!
I gave up an education because of it and so did many others!

Thought i'd resurrect the first thread
i just had a discussion with a relative who attended the district convention.
he gave me the booklet, "keep on the watch.
" according to him, the speaker who introduced the booklet talked about the people who were stumbled because of the change in understanding regarding "this generation.
Thanks Bonnie, interesting point. I'm glad that my children weren't brought up in the 'truth' in the end, it scares me sometimes when they show an interest because of family members.

So sorry to hear that Bonnie. In hindsight do you regret having this conversation with your son in law?
so, i recently finished reading "the god delusion" by richard dawkins.
i read it with a certain amount of hesitation.
after all, i am still recovering from my disappointment at realizing that the wts is not god's organization.
I'm assuming BD that you're talking about v17? Living by faith?
Following on from your point, if faith is based on evidence is it really faith at all?

Sorry BrotherDan, i missed it....
All men are without excuse for disbelief in God. According to the bible. Hebrews 11 examines faith closely and says that it is our expectation of things hoped for based on evidence. 11:6 says that without faith it is IMPOSSIBLE to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those that seek him.
I've just read Hebrews 11 and nowhere does it say that faith is based on evidence.
