  I think this post could just as easily have been called "the weird things that only XJW's do"...like complain about "the borg" (sort of sounds like its own cult term) complain about "the dubs" dissect the watchtower

  my jw buddy just called me with some "fun" news.

  they had the co last week, and of course dave and i were part of the elder's meeting agenda.

  my friend has just had a conversation with one of the elders, who told her about it because it involved her.

  what an amazing story. It reminded me of growing up in Hatboro, PA. I clearly remember that an elder in my congregation actually had some sisters spy on my mom and all sorts of things. They were trying to get her removed from being a pioneer or something. Even with all of the problems I've had with my parents, I remember this to be a very upsetting time for my mom, and the whole spying game is such a joke. Even she couldn't really believe it. It was probably one of the first things that soured me towards the WTS. I'm glad that the CO actually had the sense to realize how wrong that is.

  Matrix Revolution [Alternate Ending]

  i just got done watching 'matrix revolution,' i think i was disappointed with the ending.

  my son, richard, liked it.

  i suggested an alternate ending to him that he thought would have caused a riot in the theatres.

  AOL - what's your opinion?

  i've had aol for several years now.

  i am dumping it very soon.

  anyone else have aol and what is your opinion?

  I hate AOL, i actually just dropped them 2 months ago after a 5 year run. You have to spend a good hour to an hour and a half removing AOL things from your hard drive, they are places you wouldn't think to look

  to everyone who sent gifts and things to the baby shower that princess and family had for my wife and i. everything was very thoughtful and its amazing that people we've never met would go out and buy things needed for the baby.

  i received this at work the other day.

  it was sent to myself and quite a few others who work in my department via email.. i have to say, it sounded an awful lot like a story i heard from some dubs.. i just thought it was interesting.................dubs always take everything as their own!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

  They have so many stories that are just made up or flat out lies....how about the one w/ the frogs who were paddling in the cheese or something?

  A CO by the name of Dentler told a flat out lie in Willow Grove, PA...he told us all about the people dying from tainted blood in the aftermath of 9/11....pretty funny story.

  when i picked up this copy of the wt, i couldn't believe what i saw in the two study articles.

  the first one is entitled "our watchfulness takes on greater urgency" and the second article is "prove yourselves ready for jehovah's day".. i'm not going to go into these articles in depth, as that is blondies job!

  but i will elaborate on a few points.. before i begin, let's consider a recent comment at the annual general meeting by bro barr, a gb member to put things into perspective:.

  the NWA re-issues, The Polyphonic Spree, Essential Johnny Cash, Sigur Ros, Fountains of Wayne, Richard Hell and the Voivoids, and Obie Trice. I like a nice mix of stuff going at all times.

  The Only Way to Improve Your Life is by Studying with JWs!

  this statement appears to be absolute truth if you were to ask any one of jehovah's witnesses to answer the question: who can one turn to for help in making positive changes in their life?

  the literature that they read is peppered with examples of people who once were violent or drug addicted or had other addictions such as alcohol or gambling and are now one of jehovah's witnesses.

  first, do you believe that one can only make a change by studying the bible with jws?

  These articles always gave Michalina and I such a laugh. Most of my friends that were in it (and still are) were so half assed and probably drank / watched more violent / sex movies than normal people. As for me, well I left the JW's, i'm a family man, but also listen to gangsta rap, eminem, and i haven't killed anyone yet!
