we all know the watchtower soicety can be deceitful at times.
one place i've noticed their deceit is in their main 'bible' study/cult introduction book 'what does the bible really teach?
designed for a jw holding a bible study with an interested person, this books tries to convince the person being studied with, that this religion knows the truth about the bible.
I knew I wasn't the only one who read with disbelief they weren't dedicating themselves to an organization. That's precisely what their baptism as JWs is all about, as pointed out.

in the january 1 2007 wt, there is the following quote in one of the articles regarding the "first resurrection" (there are a few other posts on that article already):.

Yes, after admitting in their magazine that the "Bible does not outline exact procedures for a Christian wedding" the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society then imposes rules on how JW's weddings must be carried out. Newly additions are that "Jehovah's Witnesses do not repeat a marriage by having multiple legal ceremonies, nor do they renew marriage vows, such as on a couple's 25th or 50th wedding anniversary." Also:Let's not overlook their following commandment:"Unless local law requires something else, these vows that honor God are used. For the groom: "I [name of groom] take you [name of bride] to be my wedded wife, to love and to cherish in accordance with the divine law as set forth in the Holy Scriptures for Christian husbands, for as long as we both shall live together on earth according to God's marital arrangement." For the bride: "I [name of bride] take you [name of groom] to be my wedded husband, to love and to cherish and deeply respect, in accordance with the divine law as set forth in the Holy Scriptures for Christian wives, for as long as we both shall live together on earth according to God's marital arrangement.") Good review Blondie, it is very obnoxious of them to want everyone to think of Paradise as they portray it in their silly drawings. How limited is their hope, I can now see how materialistic they are.

since we have faded from the hall most everyone avoids us except for a couple of young ones that will stop by for a visit .
last night a young woman in her twenties came over we talked about several things, and she brought up that a while back she had seriously thought of suicide .
i asked if there were reasons as to why ?

I could not let a brother's comment, on Peter's question to Jesus "To whom shall we go to" and apply it to the WT, just slip away. I quickly pointed out that Simon realized one could not go to the Father without first going to the Son and his question reflected there is no one we can turn to, but Jesus alone! The conductor seemed mildly perplexed, but thanked me.
