just wanted to run an informal poll to see how "effective" or hopelessly "ineffective" the borg tract assimilation drive has been.. i for one, have not received the tract, and i live in densely populated development.
did anybody get it left in their doors/mailboxes?.
No tract here. Actually, I never see witnesses here out at all, and I live in a suburb of Philly. Does anyone even go out in FS anymore?

it always amazed me how jws can have almost two different personalities.
it's not quite like having a double life, but it's the hypocricy of jws themselves.. i remember going to those meetings and seeing everyone with their plastic smiles, as if they were the greatest people in the world.
but you lift the curtain of their home lives, and their true personalities come out.. my mother was an entirely different person at the meetings.
Too many scenarios to list....

"people come to this country and they like it.
they don't view it as the belly of the beast.
with very few exceptions, you don't see the bitter enclaves that you have in europe.".
For the most part, a very encouraging article.

well, i stumbled onto this site and decided, after reading a bit to post.. who am i?
i am "no longer one of jehovah's witnesses" as they say now, they no longer use the word "disfellowshipped" in the announcments now.
why am i df'd?
Welcome nonamegiven, stay here a while. You will learn much and be happier for it in the end.

if you could give a score from 1 to 10, 1 being the lowest, what do you think is the morale of the average witness right now, considering that not much that they predicted happened by now.. i would give them a 4, considering their new tract that came out recently, that might make them more optimistic that the end is closer..
Overall, I'd say it is probably where it's been at for some time. Apathetic. The few jws that I still keep in any contact with don't even mention the tract.

ok, lets have a discussion about where we all came from, evolution or creation?
(or whatever you beleive in of course) every one put down there main reasons, along with reasonable facts and backup as to why.. .
hopefully this doesnt start to many arguments, lol.. .
I believe in creation purely and simply for the fact that human beings are too complex to `just happen`.
I'm sure after 6 more pages this has been discussed at nausium, but as many have already said, it is the creationists' view that human beings, (as well as all other life and non-life matter), just happened. Evolution is based on CUMMULATIVE changes over VERY LONG periods of time. So long, that we humans have a very difficult time attempting to put that kind of time into perspective. Occasional mutations of simpler organisms eventually produced more complex organisms. Were not talking about periods of hundreds or even a few thousand years in most cases. These periods were far longer than that, and sufficient enough to allow for the probability that more advanced species would result within that length of time. Species that evolved "less than useful" traits, were often weeded out of existance via natural selection, those that evolved more "useful" traits, typically survived. Hardly a matter of "just happening". The probability of a god existing that somehow accomplished this is far less likely, in terms of sheer numbers.
While science cannot categorically prove every aspect of evolution, (there are many debates as to HOW it happened), there are indeed hard facts for a great deal of the theory. What we know of creation completely disagrees from what facts we do KNOW about evolution.
I'll put my wager on science.

we are finally free, monday night we had our witch hunt.
they tried to get us to confess to anything.
we came to the jc thinking that we would be talking about the un material that we passed out.
Congrats, Jim! Enjoy your freedom!

this is my first post, some of you have read my hubby's story - agent smith - anyway i was just wondering if i should write a letter to disassociate myself or just leave things as they are.
i have not been to meetings for about 8yrs but have only just come to realize what a load of rubbish the jw's teach.
now that i have read "crisis of conscience" i have no doubt that jw's are corrupt.
As others have said, if you have gone 8 years and no problems so far, you have already faded. Enjoy!
