How do you like sitting at the book study one more time thru the revelation book and listining to all those prophecies and being told how everyone of them was fulfilled thru the Governing Body?
That's what drives me nuts.

Is becoming a witness the right thing for me
by marketman ini've been struggling for quite some time now about continuing my exploration of the jehovah witness faith.
i am a "cradle" catholic and have been very involved with the church.
i started to become disillusioned several months back with all of the tradition, habits, and teachings of the church--which i began to seriously doubt.

If you want to get rid of your spouse continue the study if you care for him/her stop the study.
Keep on getting both views, those on this board and others such as davidgladden.com and you will make the right decision

The End is coming Pretty Soon, Folks
by Flowerpetal ini have been inactive from jws since 2003. i don't post here very much -- do more reading than posting.
but i just had to tell y'all that i got a one-page tract this evening which is an invitation to attend the deliverance at hand convention.. yes...the end is coming pretty soon because never before in jw history has an invitation or tract been distributed to a city not designated a convention city.. the end is also coming pretty soon because i was told at the convention there will be a lot of talks about noah and what he faced.. in addition, the end is very near because later on this year there will be several announcements coming from the society.

The announcement will be to get rid of one meeting, such as the book study, they go over the same books anyway, publish the watchtower once a month with 4 study articles and last, regular pioneer hours will be dropped to 50 and aux to 30.Save money on paper and save money on gas for those that are pioneering
More of them can pioneer,lift their spirit and be assured of everlasting life in a beautiful paradise earth.

Were YOU Depressed When You Were A Witness?
by minimus ini've seen soooo many witnesses taking meds or alcohol because of unhappiness and depression.
i know of one woman who regularly gos to her shrink and is the most depressed person that i know of.
personally, i believe it's because a jw can never do enough to satisfy god or the elders....what do you think?

One of the elder told me that 50% of the congr. was on prozac, that is true of my wife jw family and not at all with my family that are " worldly"

Question about shunning from someone who has never been a JW....
by whyizit ini wondered, since the jws claim that jesus is their teacher, what evidence do they have of jesus shunning "bad associations"?
it seems to me, from reading the bible, that the religious people of his day really gave him a hard time, because he actually spent the majority of his time with "bad associates", rather than shunning them.
thomas, though he followed jesus, wasn't totally convinced.

the elder i talked to a while back just couldn't let it be and now want's to have another discussion.
he now wants to meet with with another elder from the hall.

if you don't want to be df just tell them that you fully beleive all of the teachings of JW.
Was en elder for 20 years we were not trained to accept any reasoning, the society is always right if you doubt you cannot be a JW,
it's as simple as that. You can commit adultery every day of the week and the elders will forgive you, you can disagree with God and Jesus and the elders will simpathize with you but don't you dare questioning the mighty GOVERNING BODY. YOU ARE OUT
So weigh your words carefully

JW's going door to door in poor neighborhoods
by Wordly Andre ini'm not sure if its just me, but i've noticed that every time i drive through the "ghetto part of my city" ok maybe ghetto is a poor choice of words but poor neighborhood, i always see jw's out in the streets.
i live in the same city only in the better part and i hardly ever see jw's on my street?
not that i am complaining about it but, i was thinking do they target lower income families, or in their eyes uneducated people for their ministry?

Co visit, every visit he would never preach in the white rich district but always in the poorest territories since he always felt he could start a few bible study.
Less educated,more religious,looking for better conditions.

Disassociate or "Fade"
by done4good ini know this has probably been discussed before, but i would like to take a poll of your thoughts as to what you personally would do, disassociate yourself or just fade over time.
i've been in the process of "fading" myself since november of last year, (last meeting in january, and never going back).
i have been considering making it official though by formal letter of da.

Anyone attend Kingdom Halls in Elgin IL or near Crystal Lake IL?
by Ziggy ini have family members who attend (or have attended) a congregation in elgin illinois (i believe there are more than one) and others who attend some kingdom hall that serves the cary il or crystal lake il area (i am sure that there are several but i am not sure of the name the hall they attend).
if you did attend an elgin congregation or a congregation that may serve the cary / crystal lake area, would you send me a pm?
