i had a bunch of tiny little nags that always bothered me about the bible/god/etc.
that eventually led to me drifting away, but this was my personal, singular issue that no one could address.
i think i mentioned it before here, but, for summation again:.
Always had doubts about 144k going to heaven. Not enough scriptures to back that doctrine that came out of the book of Revelation, a book written in signs and symbols.
As i went from door to door always hoping that i never had to defend that doctrine and look like a fool.
That was one, but most of the doctrines as i look back don't make any sense.
so i havent been to a meeting in some time and my wife decided we should go.
we showed up late, i was love bombed by an elder with a man-hug where i felt i was made a spectacle of.
moving on.
The same elder that gave you a big hug most likely never picked up the phone and check if you were still alive.
"miss you" ...they don't bother calling while you miss the meetings for a few months.
this may have been discussed, but i just recently was told that a km this past year stated that inactive ones are now to be treated as if they are df'd.
is this so?

it is rare to have absolute proof of the fact that the borg is categorically wrong.. the recent discovery of hominid footprints in happisburgh, norfolk, england is one such.
these footprints are of a family of people who walked in the soft mud 800/850 thousand years ago.
this is properly substantiated fact not open to dismissal.. further evidence in the uk shows the use of flint tools in hunting and butchering animals again accurately dated to 450,000/500,000 yearsthe bible traces adams creation to something over 6000 years ago.
I agree with you but religious people, not just the watchtower continue to play dum and reject the clear evidence.

so we had our co visit and we were quizzed about the "problem" of higher education as well.
I think it's disgusting that in 2014 they continue to have such a view.
How different from Mormons where almost every young man after his 2 year ministry they attend a university, they feel it's a command from God
to educate yourself a be a productive member of society and of course help the church financially.
the assemblies would be get better results and get more people to come and be inspired if they were more encouraging.
instead the assemblies are a giant guilt trip.
don't go to college, don't get a good job, dont buy things even if you can afford them, don't play violent games, don't flirt.
Because they want you to stay as a slave of the watchtower....do more and more, faith doesn't get you anywhere according to the boys in NY..

You seem to be a very smart young adult and i'm glad you have not taken the step of baptism and make sure you don't.
Stick to your decision not to be a JW, make sure you get some good education or a skill that can support you and eventually a family.
Most of us us spent and wasted decades in the watchtower and i'm glad you're seeing the "light" about the watchtower.

as i grew up in the religion, i was a 10. i wanted to be made a "servant" because that was instilled in me from infancy.
i diligently studied ever piece of watchtower literature and defended my religion intensely.. when i got into my 30's, i started to see little cracks in the watchtower's surface but decided to "wait on jehovah".
then i started to research a little more critically and realized i couldn't defend the prophecies, the treatment of people and the hypocrisy that was becoming more obvious, that especially an elder can see.. it was a gradual thing---from a 10 to a zero!.
