  Core Beliefs...

  what exactly are the "core beliefs" of the wtbs?

  i was raised in it and don't even know what "they" are.

  is it me or has these core beliefs been extremely fluid?

  Will they Eliminate the District Convention?

  ok, i am now guilty of feeding into the "big announcement" frenzy on the board!

  another poster made an interesting suggestion that the "hypothetical" big announcement may be the elimination of the d.c.. i think this is a real possibility.

  its been cut down to 3 days from an original 8 days over the years.

  AS far as i know most JW's are not exicted to go to DC. I never looked forward in going, the expense and dragging along 3 kids and sleeping in hotels and eating out every night, but you always have to put on a smile and make sure you show how happy and excited you are because it is the faithful and discreet slave provisions, food at the proper time, so you do not dare to complain.

  Those that verbalized their complain, the elders made sure they received a few reminders of their lack of appreciation.

  Kingdumb Halls??

  Many KH don't have windows because they don't want apostates to throw a brick thru it and hit the speaker while he is given the much needed spiritual food.

  Can You be announced DF w/Out a JC Meeting?

  my parents just got a phone call from a longtime inactive witness who heard from his very active witness wife that they were announced df'd.

  we don't know if its it true or not becuase none of us go to meetings anymore and have no inside sources at the hall to tell us (as we are apostates, who would tlak to us????

  ) the elders have tried a couple times to talk to them but my dad avoids them.

  Always easier for the elders when a person does not show up after being invited to the JC, expecially on apostasy or other wrongdoing.

  By not showing up you are admitting you are guilty and makes their job easier. They wash their hands and thei are done with you.

  DF and now the burden is on you if you want to come back.

  Does anyone know, those that have worked in accounting at DC how much they usually rake in?

  It seems when you are there you hardly ever see anyone dropping any money in the box.

  Many of these conventions centers the society gets them for free because the city rakes millions in tax revenue ( hotels and restaurants)

  I came home to find my wife crying over THAT article.

  i came home today to find my wife crying whilst reading the 'when a loved one leaves jehovah' article.

  its been a good few months now and i can appreciate how she feels.

  but it just irritates me how my disagreeing with this religion has such a catastrophic effect on our everyday lives.

  I was turned in to the elders for apostasy and dealing with it right now, ho yes, she is filing for divorce due to " apostasy"

  They have more than 600 acres at Patterson and more at Wallkill, it would make sense for them to dump everything in Brooklyn, pick up a couple billions and move the whole operation at patterson. By doing so laying off many bethelites, or use most of them to milk cows and goats.
