as most informed jehovah's witnesses know, the wtbts is very good at painting a pretty picture of themselves by cleverly wording things to outsiders, yet not revealing the specifics of their beliefs.. below is an example from their official website regarding whether or not they shun members who choose to leave them.
they do not tell the public of the interogation they impose on members who wish to quietly leave ( fade ).. notice they mention how they are more than happy to restore those who exit, but fail to mention the types of questions they ask to those who leave them.. while they admit they shun those who verbally express they no longer wish to be a jehovahs witness, they do not tell the public they coerce that very statement from those who try to leave peacefully and quietly.

I know what the rules are when it comes to those that leave the organ. but as it's been said already, some witnesses make up their own rightousness such as my wife and decides not to talk to family members that have left and not df's.
I reminded her hundreds of times to pick up the phone and just to see how her mother is doing and just tell her that you miss her.
Some feel the stricter they are, the holier they are.

My wife who is very active witness has shunned her mother for the last 10 years because she stopped attending the meetings.
Also her sister that grew up in the truth but never got baptized also is shunned.That's what fries me, rejecting your mother because she does not want to go to the kingdom hall.
Yes and they go around knocking on doors to show their love for people and to bring others in this loving organization.
i havent seen any dubs in front of liquor stores just standing there holding up copies of watchtower and awakes?

Interestingly, no consequences for wearing a ring even though we all know it is pagan or celebrate your anniversary but you will get df's and end up in Gehenna if you celebrate a birthday, another pagan custom according to the Warchtower. everyone knows among the witnesses that it does not make sense but no one dares to complain or question it.

something interesting in the september, 2006 awake was the article's references to the creative days and how ridiculos fundamentalists are for saying that they are each literal 24 hour periods.
according to the jaunuary 1st, 1987 watchtower on page 30, jehovah's witnesses maintain that each creative day was 7,000 years long, totalling 49,000 years.. in the face of overwhelming paleantological evidnce to the contrary; dinosaur fossils, living sea creatures that predated them, single cell life that predated the sea creatures, etc.
i submit that this view is equally ridiculous.. the society cannot abandon this view because to do so would call into question the 6,000 years of man's existence having ended in 1975. this would call into question the validity of the 6th creative day ending, now entering into god's rest...things would begin to unravel.
They have not talked about creative days for a very long time, after 1975 and the end did not come they really don't know anymore what's going on.
Most of the witnesses don't give much thought anymore about all the details, they blindly follow, go to meetings and spent some time in service and they satisfy their conscience, watchtower, of course feel they have god's approval.

I've been with them for 15 years as a small business and i feel they are pretty good and like the fact that have branches in almost every state.

i've been hearing left and right that the end is so close now.
ok, but it doesn't show in their actions.. no one is knocking at my door.....
they are too busy knocking on not at homes, don't forget if they don't get their 9.2 hrs a month they will lose their coveted position.
Then the congregations would surely fall apart without their leadership.
I remember shepherding calls were always neglected, we would come up with a program or schedule but after a couple of months it would die out.
i just want to share this with you all.. a few weeks ago, trev (dedpoet) popped the question, and of course i accepted, so we are getting married!!
we have been busy getting things started since then, hence the slight delay in posting our news.
we aren't in a particular hurry, as we have no desire to have children.

It has always been the elder's job to encourage others with those words about the end being so close, it makes and gives them and aura of spirituality but down deep the elders and the society live in such a way to show us the end is far away
