  i recieved my copy today and have only spent an hour or so in looking it over.. i want to commend barbara anderson and those who assisted her , this is very well written and compelling.

  if you haven't ordered a copy yet, i encourage you to do so.. (forgive me if i word this badly my awake college education might show ) my initial reaction to what i've been reading is how the watchtower society lawyers, headquarters etc does not apper to be any kind of organization led by god.

  it appears to be a business trying to protect it's treasures stored upon the earth.

  i just read mr. flipper's thread about politics & appointments and began to wonder: what does a ministerial servant do?

  how would one become an ms?

  my hubby is gung-ho, so this might be something he's after, but i need to know more of what it's about so i can look for signs..

  i believe in god, but i also realize he may not exist.. if you don't believe in god, i really don't care, i'm just curious.. i don't have this need to start threads like "why you must believe in god", or other such nonsense, but some of you still have this "control" issue that you thought you left in the org.

  since my mom passed in january my dad has wanted me to go through her things and clear out her bedroom.

  I have an 18 year old son that wishes I would drop dead tonight, and a 28 year old daughter that I haven't seen in 7 years.

  I was a coke/crack addict, a drunk, and a whore master.

  I have had weight problems all of my life, and now I am clean, sober, thin, and a family man.

  My parents hate me, my daughter REALLY hates me, and my grandkids (2 of them) don't even know I exist.

  Many years ago, I asked my 82 year old great uncle, if he felt 82. His answer has stayed with me for a long time. He said,"I feel 18".

  Now, as a grey haired man of 53, father of 5, grandfather of 4, I understand him.

  I still feel 18...it's just that old bastard in the mirror, every morning, that keeps telling me I'm not.
