One more reason I hate religion, and everything associated with it.

Is This Discrimination ?
by Bstndance inyesterday, i received a notice of an arts grant available for people in urban areas.
in reading the materials it stated (and i'm going to bold the same words the application did): must be a person of color from african, asian, or hispanic heritage.
i was quite offended by this.

Reverse discrimination. We are infested with it in Canada. Sucks to be .....jeez, I can't say that...It's discriminatory.

WTBTS & Local Corporate Structure, KH Ownership, Finances, Etc
by Creed ini had posted this in response to some questions on the napa valley ca court case thread... i am starting a new thread and reposting it here.... there was some previous discussion going on about the wtbts's many corporations, ownership of kh's, articles of incorporation, non-profit status, how kh loans and finances work, etc.
well, good news, i don't want to disclose too much information about myself, but let's just say in my profession, i do a lot of work in this area of expertise.
to answer the question about ownership of kh's though, each congregation is required by the wtbts to set up a non-profit corporation in their particular state with the secretary of state, or corporations division, or businesses division.

Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Jump to: navigation, search
The Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses was established to organize and administer the congregational affairs of Jehovah's Witnesses in the United States.
Publicly announced in January 2001, the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses is a legal corporation used by the United States Branch Committee. The United States branch oversees the preaching work of Jehovah's Witnesses in the contiguous United States, Bermuda, and the Turks and Caicos Islands.
This corporation operates along with Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania and Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of New York, Inc. It may pass direction to travelling overseers and local congregation elders or body of elders, and even to the body of elders through the travelling overseers. District overseers, circuit overseers and the body of elders in each congregation are considered an extension of the corporation and serve to disseminate communications to the congregations from the corporation (and by association, the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses), and to organize congregational arrangements in accord with directions from the corporation.
All corporations operated by Jehovah's Witnesses are non-profit and are for the benefit of the organization's members and their associates. Such entities or corporations are necessary to conform to local, state and national laws, and—as Jehovah's Witnesses understand—are required by the Bible

Date ideas needed
by jstalin in.
i need some tips for fun places to go or things to do on a date.... i'm running out of ideas and i'm sick of the "go to the bar then to the club" kind of dates.
anyone have any ideas for me?

One of our first dates, my wife (to be) and I bought some Thai take out and had a picnic on the roof of my house. Watched the stars. Listened to some music on my walkman. Drank some wine.... and the next day I had the roofers in to repair the worn shingles.
Good luck mate...
