Society laying the groundwork for "new light"?
by sir82 inin the january 1 2007 wt, there is the following quote in one of the articles regarding the "first resurrection" (there are a few other posts on that article already):.
it seems that resurrected ones of the 24 elders group may be involved in communicating of divine truths today.. this may be the most significant sentence in the article (haven't read it in its entirety yet).
i don't recall seeing anything like it in print before.. seems to be laying the groundwork for a "flash of new light", to be exposed probably whenever the last of the 3 old-timers hanging on (barr, barber, jaracz) drop off:.

I put my dear old dog to sleep
by Jez inafter 2 months of old age and illness, 2 cancelled vet appts, hoping he would get better, tears, frustration, watching him not eat, throwing up, becoming skin and bones, justifying keeping him, i stuck to this morning's appointment.. he was with me for the last 12 years of my life and his life has been entwined in so many of the memories i have.. to tell you about him, would be an essay.
i just want everyone to know that he was so close to me.
in the end, i kissed him on his head, said, "good boy, you're a good boy" and he laid his head on my hands and went to sleep.. i love you and will miss your crazy dog ways.

I share your loss. I've been there, done that, and hated the tee shirt. You have my sympathies.

Like a Distant, Abusive Parent
by metatron ini think the saddest aspect of being a jehovah's witness in 2006 concerns the increasingly distant relationship that the watchtower.
hierarchy have developed - and how witnesses react to it.. have you ever known a parent who had little or no love for their children?
and how the children sometimes seem all the more drawn to.

I make a point of telling as many people as I can, that will listen, just how destructive and evil the watchliar sociopath society is. It serves two purposes. One, it gets the message out, and two, it re-enforces their evilness in my mind. You can do it, just be strong.

This guy says he studies other religions
I vote we report him to him and see if he takes immediate action, without warning, on himself. Anyone here second the motion?

What bothers you more, snakes or spiders
by free2beme init is pretty common among us humans to have an issue with one of the big two.
we either have a discomfort with them, or just dislike them all together.
personally, i am not real against being around either, but if i had to choose which one i see in a more negative way, it would be spiders.

In the Philippines, we have a nasty little thing the locals call "tungaw". In english it's "red mite". The nastiest little piece of work I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. Usually goes for the private spots, and causes extreme swelling, and an itch that would make Satan curse his own mother. Oh, ya, and it lasts for weeks. But I still hate spiders.

Does Anyone Really Believe They Can Knock Out The Watchtower???
by minimus ini think it will be around for years to come.
i do think that we can put the word out about this cult and help people get out or not join them in the first place.
but we'll never obliterate them, in my opinion.

I think that withthe power of the internet, and the thousands of us that have left, there is a good chance. I just hope it is in my lifetime.

A reminder on Shunning family members again in the January 15th Watchtower!
by Gill injanuary 15th watchtower 2007 'remaining steadfast when a child rebels'.
'when discipline is severe'.
'if your child is unrepentant and is a baptized christian, he may receive the strongest form of discipline - being disfellowhipped from the congregation.
