Is it appropriate for a stranger to comment on a woman's bruises?

if you saw a woman in public, and said woman was a complete stranger to you, would you feel it's appropriate to discuss it with her (if you're concerned she is in an abusive relationship)?

if you did, would it be appropriate to do it within earshot of others?

and if she offered you an explanation other than abuse, how would you proceed?

What a change! My journey

my first post was just over 6 months ago - and what a ride it has been.

just want to give a shout out and a big thanks to everyone on the board that has had my back and my best interests in mind over the past few months.

wouldn't have my current balanced perpective on things - and i certainly wouldn't have the peace of mind that i do now without you all!.

this is the first time i've been on here in about a month, though trev has been posting some days, so i've been able to keep up with everyone's news.

thankyou all so much for the well wishes you keep sending me, they all mean so much.

apart from my other problems, i've had a really painful back injury for the last few weeks, which has made it impossible for me to sit comfortably at the pc.

As an ex-cop, I would ask, and observe the persons reaction/response, before I made any decision to proceed. with advice I also think that I would advise her that there were agiencies available to offer help, if help was wanted and/or needed.

MOUTHY NEEDS YOUR PRAYERS AND/OR SUPPORT

our dear mouthy is really having a tough time right now and needs our support and/or prayers.

as some of you may know, she's already lost 3 of her children in death and the other one to the borg.

in the last couple of days, she's had to worry about her 2 year old great-granddaughter being in the hospital with an illness and yesterday, her daughter had a suspicious mole removed from her back and was told there is a lump in her breast which has to be biopsied.

thought that would get your attention ladies........folks...the time is coming ..and it is soon ...when i will no longer posting as much (for a wee while).....not because of any strop or fall out with anyone...nor because of some unpaid internet bills (ahem)....but only because the phenomenon that is "big brother" will be starting this wednesday...call me sad/deluded,unhinged or all three....but!!

!....nothing will tear me away from the petty arguments/fights/handbags at thirty paces confrontations of some weird british wimps trying to forge their name into the consciousness of the british people forever....or until xmas....whatever comes first....bid me farewell ya bunch of numpties....for i sail into turbulent waters to seek semi-precious gems ...such as "jade" and "topaz"...or was it "shabaz"...whatever...anyhow...."once more unto the bitch, dear friends"....christopher coninjas..aka saddo.....ninja

Has anyone had to miss school for an assembly?

usually, the district assemblies start past the middle of june, but i have heard a number of people that have had them start already.

granted, that is in the south where school usually lets out in may and starts in august.

on the flip side, some southern assemblies might be running in late august and school already in session.. i have seen a district assembly that ran june 16-18. and school didn't let out that year until june 23. this is the week when final exams are commonly given in school, and any children that missed them for the a$$embly got a zero on the biggest test of the year and likely flunked or did poorly as a result.
