  here i was in happy-no one is really bothering me too much-lala land, until yesterday when i had to go and open my mouth.

  a pioneer sister from our hall emailed me to inquire what was preventing me from attending the meetings, and asked what was holding me back from going.

  (this is about the 5th or 6th email asking this question) welllllll, i guess i just reached a point where i couldn't pretend anymore.

  Who do we pray to?

  jehovah's witnesses obviously make a big thing over god's name and say that we should call him jehovah.. but when jesus taught his disciples how to pray in matthew 6:9 why didn't he start the prayer "jehovah"?

  instead he starts it "our father".

  surely if jesus had wanted us to use god's name he would have taught us to use it in prayer?.

  The Watchtower and the Masons

  the latest edition of the free in christ ministries journal contains a very interesting article entitled the watchtower and masons.. drawing upon material from the book the watchtower & the masons by fritz springmeier, it gives the following parallels between the things that c t russell believed and those taught by the masons:.

  * both believe jehovah is the most important word being the basis of their dogma, and the name of their god.

  * both believe god yielded power to a lesser god.

  Hello Seeker, Just curious if you could give some erudite reasoning as to why you do not believe that Russell had at least some type of masonic leanings. It seems that you always say you are in the camp that Russell was not a mason, without giving a reason that I have seen, while giving others condescending counsel about their right to an opinion on the matter. I'm not trying to be inflammatory, once again, just curious. Thats why I enjoy other's posts, because they give a thought provoking response. Please dont take offense, there is no need to patronize, but I would really, sincerely be interested in your viewpoint. Dino

  thanks to wasasister, i just received a copy of jehovah's witnesses, the new world society, by marley cole, vantage press, ny, 1955 printing date.

  as some of you know, cole wrote this book under the pretence that he was only interested in writing about the jws, and didn't identify himself as a jw.

  note what the jacket cover says about him:.

  Hi JAVA, Marley currently resides in Mounds View, Minnesota. He stepped aside as an elder back in 97 or so to take care of his wife Fern. I will say this about old fella, he personally is a very good person. He will see someone who needs assistance and will help him long term in whatever way he can. They still used him to give circuit assembly parts even though he was no longer serving. Still likes to take a nip every now and then as well. He has also seen firsthand the cruel side of the org when he and several of the body were removed in Roswell,GA. when they got sideways with a heavy down there. I know personally that he doesnt buy all that is taught either.But unfortunatly will probably go down with the org. I have lots of Marley stories, but out of respect for a kind man I will keep them to myself. Hoe this helps,Dino

  bill & joan cetnar, in their book, questions for jehovah's witnesses, relate an interesting case of a young thai missionary, who turned crazy during the course of gilead.

  on her way back home she jumped from the boat and was alleged that she was eaten by sharks.

  president knorr tried to keep it secret.. when i tried to investigate by writing to brooklyn and the bethel of thiland, none of them answered my registeried letters.

  Hello all ,What year did that happen? Im glad this was brought up because I had read that experience on that website and it jogged my memory of when my wife and I attended the annual meeting in 1990 Russell Kurzin gave an experience of how he had recently been reprimanded by the entire governing body. Kind of like reading your own public reproof letter before a packed Stanley Theater. If you've ever listened to one of his talks, he is very earthy and all over the map.His mouth is his worst enemy.
