hi folks,.

i'm just sort of taking role call to all those x-dubs who are now brothers and sisters in christ.

i think it is wise for us to rise up and be counted so that we know who each other are.

Greetings hillary-step, my erudite friend!

If I were to respond to every dogmatic and inflammatory statement made by every Christian, atheist, deist, wiccan, agnostic and others who make up the fabric of this board, I would have more posts than Waiting and larc combined. LOL

If my simple statement and experience as a Christian arrogates me to the ranks of the "spittle lipped" in the eyes of some, so be it.

I was simply responding to the "roll call". In addition, in some way or another, I feel that I am aligned with everyone on this board who is involved in the fight against the borg.

Barbara Anderson Disfellowshipped

as of 1 pm today barb anderson was notified that she has been disfellowshipped in writing by the judicial committee in her congregation.

barb was df in absentia at a second hearing that was declared after she successfully defended herself against charges in the first hearing.

home office came back with further instructions to make it stick the second time around.

Thank you for bring this subject to the fore.

I feel that my many years as one of Jehovah's Witnesses shaped me in numerous ways. To this day, I feel that denominationalism is not Christ-like. I prefer to embrace the whole body of Christ while attending many different churches.
I also feel that my worship of the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, should be handled in a dignified, reverent, and devout manner that befits thinking persons. I am not dogmatic in that thinking, to each his own.
Through a deep and prayerful study of the bible, and by using commentaries which were quoted by the society, (selectively of course), I realized that just about everything I firmly believed as a Witness was bogus and false. Still, I charged on like the "Man of La Mancha", believing that I could work for reform and change within the organization, initially in the area of doctrine.
Having always asked the question why? ultimately led me to the point where I realized that the leadership of Jehovah's Witnesses had carefully crafted an "outcome-based religion" where the ends justified the means. In God's work, the ends never justify the means. If you truly believe in the existence of God, you will trust in him to use you as an agent for change within the constraints of scripture.
I thank God that I escaped the clutches of a works based cult, with my faith in God intact and even stronger. Since I have come to a fuller understanding of the deity of Jesus Christ, I have begun to achieve a victory over myself. That is something that I could never do before, no matter how hard I worked as a JW.
As to participating on this board, I am not a prolific poster, even sometimes feeling that I crashed a party that I have not been invited to. And yet, I have a love for everyone here, because of the love Jesus showed for me.
Thanks for giving me a chance to express my love for God.

these were taken on february 11, 2002 (five months after the tragedy).. this day, they pulled the bodies of 5 victims from the rubble.. i wish the photos were larger but the larger photos eventually turn into red x's.. reflect and enjoy!.

the building's that you see did not suffer as much damage as the other building's (shown above) that were to the left of the wtc.

To My Mother

the best mother and the best wife anybody could ever be blessed with.

she was not only my mother, she was my friend.

Dateline Precursor: CBS 60 Min. w/Leslie Stahl

how many of you out there remember the cbs 60 minutes program several years ago when correspondent leslie stahl examined the jw child custody issues?

it may well have provided a clue as to how the upcoming dateline segement will play out.

predictably, the society emerged with something of a black eye, especially because of its cowardly refusal to produce even one gb or bethel bigshot spokesman to defend its duplicitous policies.
