My thoughts today
by purplesofa inas i get myself ready to go to work today.
i was a housewife for 10 years.........and now have worked the better of 18 years......... there is still hardly a day that goes by where i don't long to be home.
i would never be bored, i could find endless things to do.. do men still look for wives that would be, or need a woman "full-time"?

Being on my own for 12 years now as breadwinner, I too have proven to all those who viewed me as a disappointment that I can take care of myself and family.
I don't wanna be controlled or a stuffy wife at home syndrome with no life but how I think of it is to have a partener that will let me be myself with in his arms. Kinda like a circle of safety or protection as to the one not having to worry about everything by myself. But I am doing a pretty good job at it.
So many ladies have done the impossible in others eyes by doing what they can, when they can as best they can and still be successful.

How Many X-JWs Do You Know Who Don't Come on These Forums?
by Seeker4 ini was thinking about inviting a friend over for drinks this weeked.
he's a former witness like myself who no longer has any belief that the witnesses had the truth or anything close to the truth.. as i thought about that, i realized, just from my own former congregation, i know at least a couple dozen x-jws who left completely, and see the witnesses as no better than any other religion and lots worse than most.
yet none of these folks are at all involved in sites like jwd or any of the other anti-witness sites.

Purps, I totally agree with what your saying about enjoying being a homebody. I wonder how much of our thinking is from being JWs. I totally enjoy all the home thingys, laundry, ironing, cooking, cleaning ect.....flower garden. And its rare to find ones as ourself just because the way society is nowdays.
I was so 'lucky' to be a stay at home mom as a JW, raised 3 kids and life was fulfilling to me. Then with divorce, and all the nightmares to follow to combine being a single mom and working was an adjustment. I would rather live simple with a husband/mate/partener at home instead of working tons of overtime to have more material things. Then to date 'in the world' is almost as difficult as a 'sister seeking a brother'.
I ask the same question, where are those men who would enjoy and look forward to coming home to a real home cooked meal, met with hugs and kisses, to have not a rushed evening but to relax in his castle he provides while his queen/princess takes care of him and the possessions. Maybe I live in the fairytale of life because the reality of such desires aludes me.
I would rather me do the house thing, he do the outside man thing, get it all done and head out for a day on the lake fishing.
I am a school bus driver, and keep my bills paid, and if a relationship did ever appear, I would enjoy doing the driving job, just less hours. Funny, my lonliness comes alot of times in having no one to cook for.....or to fuss over at times. Or when I get the urges to head out to the lake, the boat is sitting there, and no one to go with.
I know many speak of getting on with life.........but its hard when all you have known is the 'truth' as a way of life and you still struggle with how life was verses how life is now.
I appreciate these xjw boards, at least we can associate among those who do understand, even if only by computer.
Some have found 'life' within another religion, funny, I have no interest in any religion at all. Just to live a quiet life, enjoy nature, and see how the adventure unfolds. I am 47 and life is on the downside from here on out.
I apologize for my rambling thoughts, but at times you just want someone to hold hands with. Someone to kiss and make love with....and its always harder at nighttime.

Is this site ever used for on-line dating?
by frozen one ini was reading another thread that asked, "do you see yourself remarrying?
" i noticed some of the replies mentioned that getting involved with another xjw would be interesting.
i have thought that also.

The talk here of guys PM gals....and the worry about being viewed as a horndog, what do you think of gals who would PM you. What terms are applied then.
I remember being told by the elders its ok for the brothers to go visit other KH and check out the sisters......but when the sisters wanted to go visit it was viewed as 'hunting'.
A post was made about ones who come here looking for a mate and their post would be removed, I ask, if there are forums for getting to know others why would that be a removable offense.
Belief in God or not, we all have the desire for love, ect..........and most want 'someone' in some capacity to be a part of our life. Its no secret I prefer a relationship verses none and after spending my whole life as a JW dating is hard with those who have no idea what that is like.

I was a JW in Indiana, west central. But being in the 'truth' for 35+ years, got to know alot of peeps in other places within the state.
X Husband and I did the quick builds, roofers, and that was one highlight of being in the religion.
Most of both families are still 'active' JW's.
I left there 5 years ago to start fresh, as a dfed jw.
Now my roots are planted in South Carolina

Taped Call w/ JR Brown on Cano
by Synergy inon the silent lambs site there is a taped call with a media person and jr. brown.
he stated that jw's don't proclaim or feel that they have special chosen ones to lead nor do they feel as though they are the sole organization to get to god.
what crap!

When I went to court for child custody the society sent a packet full of info and it included a blue booklet on how to testify in court, what to say and what not to say. I do believe I still have it among all the boxes of papers used in court. This was in 1995.
