I of course I'm also happy that there is a store on the corner. But I truely believe that being raised on a farm and having country skills is a good thing. And that does not make me an uneducated hick. Well, maybe a Hick, but one that is soon going to have a degree in Justice.

Firearms And Shooting...
by Justice-One ini thought i would open up a thread on firearms and shooting.
personally i was raised around firearms as my dad was not a jw.
some of my earliest memories are of my dad teaching me how to put a round in a fleas ass at 200 meters.

I'll take being a Hillbilly type over your average city type any day. Us Hillbillies can feed our families even if the stores all close. As was said in one of my favorite movies, "we can hunt, we can fish. We can stay up here a long long time." Does anyone remember what movie thats from? Here's another one from a song...."We can skin a buck, we can run a trotline, a country boy can survive." Some of the best times in my life have been spent in the Florida swamp with my boys hunting and watching the sun come up. There is something special about the swamp and the heavy ground fog as the the first sun rays begin to come though.
And wild game has alway's been very good eating in my book. Like Ted Nugent say's "You Can't Grill It, 'Till You Kill It." In my time I have had....Squirl, Rabbit, Groundhog, Quail, Pheasant, Grouse, Duck, Dove, Venison, Moose, and Bear. Gee, I'm making myself hungry. There is just nothing like a bear sandwich. Ohh I almost forgot, rattlesnake is a fine meal.
BTW, I do like blowing stuff up, how did you know?

I thought I would open up a thread on firearms and shooting. Personally I was raised around firearms as my Dad was not a JW. Some of my earliest memories are of my Dad teaching me how to put a round in a fleas ass at 200 meters. I now have a large collection of firearms, (and a class 03 FFL for Curios and Relics) and shoot at least on a monthy basis. (Best guess is that I shoot somewhere around 5000 rounds per year, sometimes a lot more, and at least 25 percent of that is 7.62x51 Mike Mike) I'm also a Range Officer at the local rifle range. My favorite rifles are my Springfield M1A, and my GI M1 Carbine I purchased from Fulton Armory. My favorite handguns are my two Springfield .45's. I have the GI and Mil-Spec.
I have also been reloading for more than 10 years, and I'm a big fan of Dillon and RCBS.
Needless to say my views never were very popular with the Elders or most brothers. The weenies.

The Elders had a fit over my concealed weapons permit, but could do nothing about it. Go figure these morons a battle rifle (M1A) is OK, but a handgun is not? BTW, I have a Springfield M14/M1A with a TRW trigger group and a GI barrel made by H&R in 1962. It is a real tack driver and will hit man sized targets out to 600 meters....from position. Maybe we should start a "gun-nut" thread, what do you think? I think I will go ahead and do it.

Could someone please show me where I said Papa would support wife beaters??? Papa has been harrasing me via email, telling me I need to apologize for this. He REALLY needs to get a grip.

RR, you can buy one....just not from a licensed FFL dealer. This is Federal law. YMMV when it comes to state laws.
BTW, congrats on having TWO 1911's. They are the best. (I'm a Springfield man myself.) When I was at Gunsite, that is just about all you would see. Hell, if it was good enough for Jeff Cooper, it's good enough for me! BTW, that week at Gunsite, I put 1000 rounds through my 1911 without so much as a stovepipe. I now have over 4000 rounds through her, and she has never once let me down.

that is, if you are able to without the prospect of facing a three-man kangaroo court appointed by jerhover to keep the congregation clean from apostate influences.. i'll go first: .

I know I have been making light of this, but Keeli I truely am sorry for the way they treated you. They are small little people on a power trip. I wish I could have been there for you. (Maybe decked out like I was in my photo.) I would have been very tempted to "rub a butt" on them. But since I have never initiated violence, I guess I would have had to let them take the first swing. Think together we could have goaded them into it?

Now now dear, you just take your time and tell us exactly what that bad man (do the Elders ask whether it was a boy or girl these days?) did to you. If you are honest enough, and get us turned on enough, maybe we won't DF you. If this wasn't so close to the truth, it would probably be funny wouldn't it? But that doesn't mean we don't want the details. LOL. BTW, the undies would be a good start. LOL.

WRONG. It is against the law for someone under 21 to buy a handgun from a licensed DEALER. Anyone over the age of 18 can own a handgun. For instance a father could give one to his son, or it could be bought from a private party. State laws may vary. http://www.building-tux.com/dsmjd/rkba/gun_show_sales.htm Look at the 2nd sentence in the 2nd paragraph.
