  i ran into an elder from our local hall today.

  first thing he said is "hey, you have been missing some meetings.

  " (i have not been to a single one in over 5 months.

  example....a cop pulls you over for a broken taillight or some other very minor infraction.

  he says he is just going to give you a warning, then says something like...."hey, you don't have any rockets or explosives in your trunk do you?

  " you of course say no, then he says "mind if i look?

  why does the society hate smoking so much?

  because it is "defiling" the body?

  if that is the case, what about drinking coffee, or over-eating?

  The Prophet's Censors...

  i'm thinking about taping this to the front door of the kindom hall.

  "for the first time in my life, i'm reading things, which have not been approved by the prophet's censors, (aka the governing body) and the impact on my mind is devastating.

  sometimes i glance over my shoulder to see who might be watching me, frightened in spite of myself.

  i was thinking about a comment i made on another thread about how i would feel if my true feelings and life came to the attention of the overseers.

  (i really like the term overseers better, as in my mind i can see them cracking a whip.

  ) i mentioned that i thought i would feel like the old man in the movie water world, that was sitting in the small boat on top of the oil in the super tanker.

  i just pissed off the wife again.

  i asked her that since the governing body admit they are not inspired, why is it considered wrong to question their dictates?.

  as usual, she got mad and told me to keep those thoughts to myself.

  A Moment Of Reflection?....

  it has now been almost three months since i completely cut off my association with "the brothers," and told my wife that i did not want to be there when the "kool-aid" came out.

  (remember i had been in full fade mode for over ten years.

  ) at first i got the cold shoulder from the wife for about a month, then things slowly returned to normal.

  i just posted this on another forum i visit, in their "religion" section.

  i wanted to put out a warning, because so many people think the jw's are "good people" and may get sucked in before they know it.
