I am sorry for your loss. But the drunk driver should be hung for his actions, the rest of society should not be made to pay at any level.

Same line of reasoning gets you "If you have nothing to hide, then why should you mind if the government reads your mail, or listens to your phone calls." I know most have been conditioned to think there is no problem with this, but trust me, there IS.
Besides cops are using these stops as "fishing expeditions," and revenue makers. They mostly give out tickets for seatbelt violations. (And since I'M the only person that is going to get hurt if I don't wear my seatbelt, why should the government care whether I do or don't?)

It's not just around the corner anymore - now it is "so close you can touch it with your tongue." Which is about the only thing JW's are allowed to touch with their tongue.

okay, here is the very first thing i've written striking back at the watchtower.
in no way do i claim to be a scholar or professional, just a jaded fool.

Well why don't you become a JW, and convert your whole family. Then maybe one day you decide it's not for you, and we will see how you feel then. That is AFTER you are CUT OFF from your family and friends. And I might add it is MUCH worse when you are raised in "the truth." Then the only friends you have are JW's, along with your family. Then you lose everything you know when you are cut off. And this is just one part of why so many HATE this cult.
Or maybe you could be a good little loyal JW, and get to watch your kid die because they needed a blood transfusion to live, but the Society said NO. But hey, they might make it to the cover of a future Awake magazine, and that would no doubt make it ok right?

i do not want to come off like a know it all, (i'm far from that....i'm still learning) but would anyone be interested in a thread that does not mention firearms (imho they are important, but to much of a hot-button topic) on prepardness?
It is SO funny to watch some of these JW's buy their "prepardness supplies." I went over to my JW brother in laws house last night, and sitting on his living room floor was SIX cases of MRE's. This is 450 dollars worth. (Including shipping.) And it only adds up to about an 18 day supply for him and his wife. - At two each per day. Now while this is better than nothing, I have always thought in terms of months and years not days. But any help is better than none. The last time I figured, I had enough to feed my family for more than a year. BUT, it did not include my extended JW family who at the time did not have so much as an extra can of beans on the shelf. And this fact brought me down to about a months supply of food - then we would all be hungry. (And I would no doubt be pissed because of the way they have made fun of me over the years, and laughed at my suggestions to just buy a little something for a rainy day. - Jah will provide ya know.)
Now don't get me wrong. MRE's are great "comfort food" in a short term or the beginning weeks of a SHTF situation. But you should not put all your eggs there. If he would have just divided the above amount of money, he could have had three cases of MRE's and about 200 pounds of wheat and beans. - Plus a few extras like powdered peanut butter and such. But hey, maybe the Society told them that Jehovah will step in within two weeks.
