There ya go. Leave him out to dry at the time he needs you most. So he'll get this treatment from you, the organization, and his family. Nice job.

They were probably on their way to a place they could sit down and drink coffee for their "break".

Wow what an excellent question to post! I don't think this issue has ever been discussed on this site.

Kids under the age of 18 who get baptized...
by WTFBBQPWNT inshould be allowed to revisit their decision and either revoke or keep their baptism.
this is too major of a decision to be placed in the hands of minors.
the mental anguish that can result from it is something that kids should be protected against.. how would one even start the process of getting this passed as a law?

I have a clean slate with them. They're the ones who are in deep shit with me.
haha I know what you mean. My parents want to do the whole "shunning" thing with me, so I act like I don't care. (I actually don't.) They, in turn, start un-shunning me for this and want to know why I am making it out to be their fault? It's not that. It's just that THEY made the choice to shun me. They choose to belong to an organization that dictates how much or how long you can love your children.

I was baptized by Jehovah's Witnesses at age 12 and my baptism is not valid as a contract. Can't see why I'd need a law.
Because this could help eliminate your record with them. Clean slate.

Actually a person who was baptized and not really aware of the commitment they were making at the time can go before the jc and let them know they don't believe their baptism was valid, therefore they want to be either rebaptized or initiate another BS or claim they were under pressure from family or friends. This happened in my cong. several times. I was baptized at 10 and rebaptized at 19
But the key question is: would they have let you out if that had been your decision when you were 19?

Doubt it would be possible to enforce a law. Really, the Society should state though that kids at 8/9 should NOT be allowed to get baptised. It is ridiculous that an 8 year old kid can be disfellowshipped and shunned, and it is hypocritical to criticise infant baptism and push ones this young to do it.
CONTROL! That's what's most important to the Watchtower Society.
Nothing you can do about it. Absolutely nothing.
