My problem with demon stories and "ghost" stories and even UFO stories. Most always happen at night, when people are going to sleep or just waking. It also bothers me to think that God watches everything bad while doing nothing while the demons are running around poking and scaring people. Makes no sense to me. I don't know what their motives would be.

Question: Demons
by ladybug25 ingrowing up, i remember hearing stories from my own parents and others in the congregation about experiences with demons.
sister x wore a t-shirt that she purchased at a second hand store and the demons attached themselves to the shirt and gave her problems.
certain movies and/or cds would give a family problems.

The 'TRUTH' of Jehovah's Witnesses (news wire)
by DannyHaszard inmost people can make a few basic associations with jehovah's witnesses: they are people who go door to door to talk about their faith and who don't celebrate ... the truth of jehovah's witnesses friday, september 22, 2006 by kelly savio most people can make a few basic associations with jehovah's witnesses: they are people who go door to door to talk about their faith and who don't celebrate birthdays.
during services, members of the congregation give talks on relevant topics concerning christian living, demonstrations are given to help with public ministry, and they do bible studies and have discussions on the material.
we believe that jesus was the son of jehovah, and we believe in living a christian life.

Q: Do you celebrate birthdays and anniversaries? A: Jehovah's Witnesses only observe the Memorial because it is the only event the scriptures specifically say Christians should observe. Scriptures don't talk about Jesus having birthday parties or other figures celebrating anniversaries
Are they lumping anniversaries and birthdays together now??? What's up with that?

No. I thought I had a relationship with God all my life. Now I feel apathetic. I don't know if there is a God and I don't really care. Maybe I'll feel differently later but for now it's actually calming to just now really think about it too deeply.

Another Letter from an ex to his Family... Opinions???
by esw1966 inwell, i just wrote another one of many letters to my sister and father who are still jw's and who have refused any contact with me as any 'good jw' does.

It is LOVE. It is acceptance. It is genuine. It is sincere. It is real. It is the work of the spirit!
That is beautiful. If it were me, I wouldn't include any reference to "you". Like you might be judging them. I would simply show that you give them unconditional love. True love. Not love based on religious belief of the other person. Love without chains or rules. That is something they really haven't been taught, sadly enough.I do believe the best revenge is living a happy life, so I would stress that you are happy. Sounds like you are doing great! Keep us posted.

Another WTS Contradiction!!!
by enlightenedcynic injust a thought that i had at a book study about two weeks ago when the chapter about why god permits suffering from the 'bible teach' book was being covered.
in paragraphs 12 -14 the wts lays out this ridiculous arguement likening god to a teacher and satan as a student who is disrupting a class.
the wts says that much like how a teacher might invite a rebellious and disruptive student to instruct the class so as to prove the student wrong....jehovah has allowed satan to operate for a time in order to prove that satan's way is wrong.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard!!!!!!! It's insulting to think that this is what a "spirit directed" group of people could come up with as the answer to one of the most important questions ever! WTF

Great video in a sick to your stomach kind of way. What was the dude in the back doing? He looks like Mel from Alice HAHAHA. I loved when you asked why should I appeal a decision that was directed by holy spirit??? They couldn't even answer that question . GEEZ
Thanks for sharing your experience.

Dido..........HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY FELLOW VIRGO!!!
Lady Liberty ........ I think that's why a lot of witness kids are home schooled. There are some teenagers in my old KH that could hardly read because they were "home schooled", very sad.

When you think about how hard it is for adults how do little kids do it? They are in school all day and then meetings at night Sat and Sun aren't days off either. Around here the Tuesday night meeting is not over till 9:15 pm or so and then you may not get home till close to 10:00pm how do they go to school the next day with so little sleep?
I have another question about meetings.....there has been other posts about the simplification of the Society. Assemblies have been shorted and simplified....hour requirements for pioneers have been reduced. Why oh why have they had the same amount of meetings that they have had a hundred years ago????? Why haven't they been "simplified" for the good of the people? My thinking is it doesn't benefit the Society at all to have less meetings. Simplified assemblies and more pioneers staying on the list does benefit the Society but not fewer meetings. If they truly were looking out for their people they would lessen this load. Times are so much different now then they were 100 years ago. I think it's cruel that they make people feel substandard if they don't attend all the meetings all the time, no matter what else good they may do.
Just my rant :)

Whats left for me to say?
by KW13 ini can't describe what i feel, when i see my mum as a jw.
sometimes (like today) it really gets me down knowing she and millions of others are living a life that is not going anywhere.. she's been to the british musuem, i've gotten e-mails from the british musuem.
we've read literature/websites/bible e.t.c.

I understand about your feelings for your mum. I'm the only kid so my mom has meant so much to me. I personally wouldn't try to convince my mom the the GB lies. She is quite simple minded (God love her) and plus she is the Queen of the Circuit. She would be quite alone without the Society. Sometimes she calls me up crying because she misses me at meetings but I make sure we have quality time together and maybe show her a little tiny bit that there is a whole world out there besides the borg.
Show her unconditional love like she will never find in the borg. Nothing can go wrong doing that.

I can't tell you how it has been such a heavy burden lifted off my shoulders not to have to worry about so many meetings!!! I use to wake up on Tuesday and Thursday mornings and dread the meeting the whole day. Then when everyone at school talking about what fun things they were going to do on the weekend all I would be thinking about is I have to wake up early get dressed up and go door to door. Was wondering what other people's take on not attending meetings anymore was.
