i havent really had a chance to ask anyone about my favourite book - enoch, the book that apparently the church fathers tried to "remove".

has anyone else here read the book of enoch, or the book of the secrets of enoch.if so what is your opinion, i found it to bear many similarities to revelation in certain places .

also including a history of the angels who caused much mischief in noah's day is fascinating , references to the son of man in such detail and the concept of different heavens is interesting as well.

I know what you mean, particularly paradise being in heaven ( one of the heavens ) would pose serious problems for them lol.

Unitarian church

hi everyone, .

we have a unitarian church nearby and i'm interested in maybe visiting, anyone got any firsthand experience of this particular group, their beliefs, understandings etc.

Hi,
Let me just set a few matters straight lol, i have NO intention of joining a religion i merely wondered what they do, as i didnt want to go somewhere and have some geeks trying to speak to me in tongues or help me communicate with angels etc lol.

i HAVE learned my lesson from the previous mind controlling group although i will even visit them from time to time to remind me why i'm no longer a member "listening to those in the seat of Moses, but not doing as they do"

many people have valid points to offer , but none have all the answers.

I rest my case, although you dont see it as a misrepresentation, the whole point is it does remove the "Master / slave" relationship as stated.

its not just "my" opinion my friend . you stated "Inaccuracy over translation is your opinion" it is infact the opinion of many people here and elsewhere i do infact still own a NWT however i use it to research the strange doctrines and alterations to the bible by Jehovah's witnesses .And no one has actually stated i may be "incorrect" besides yourself, however you dont seem to have researched the item or put any accurate description as to where i am wrong/right, if you can show me i would be more than willing to accept it as such.

I do indeed live and let live, but that doesnt mean i have to accept things that are clearly to me false does it ?? or are you just another nutter lol ??

Hi Narkissos,
although we agree on most things , i believe that clearly in this case the "owner" has been translated as a removal of Jesus absolute power of the subjects he bought with his blood.

i AM NOT saying the NWT is a terrible translation, its just been "doctored" in places to fit comfortably with doctrine.

Hi Nutter, you posted ; This kind of posting is what causes many of the problems in the world. If all paths lead to God, then why does it matter what each other thinks or believes. Surely, God welcomes all his children. So why get hung up over the detail, and respect each others beliefs (and translations). Its a very interesting viewpoint, because the bible clearly states that not all paths do lead to God, so i cant personally agree with your reasoning.Also would you consider taking your driving test from a book that you know would cause you to fail ( IE: an innacurate book ) ?? An innacurate translation being put forth to push ones own doctrine upon people and blind them to the bible truths, if we condone this then what is the point even saying we are servants of God. i bought forth a valid point, you have retorted basically inulting my genuine arguement-place at a vote who is a trouble causer my friend, most will vote for your comment as being trouble causing not mine . This is obviously in reference to Jesus Christ, as Jesus bought us the price being his blood.

The word rendered "Owner" in The NWT applies the usual lowness to Christ by the JW'S, as the word correctly rendered is Lord, Or Master "Absoloute Ruler" des-pot'-ace Strong number G1203. i personalyl dont see how the word "owner" can have been inserted, and is ( in my opinion ) an obviopus attempt to lower the role of Jesus.

in fact many even transate this part of the passage as "sovereign Lord"

it seems a misuse of wording by the WTBTS to twist the bible in trends of their doctrine
H113 Adon-Adon from an unused root ( meaning to rule ) , (controller human or divine) , meaning owner,Lord or Master
G2935 ktay'-tore - meaning Owner :- possessor
Had the above words been used in the text i would have understood their translation.

if any of you scholars have looked at this point, i would appreciate your input please.

Have you ever had acupuncture? What else can I try for high blood pressure?

i had a bit of a shock last month when, in a routine check-up, my doc told me i had high blood pressure.. i can't remember what the reading was the first time but the next few days it was averaging 150/100.

not wanting to go on drugs for the rest of my life i decided to look at alternatives.

there are some chinese clinics in the town where i live so i tried one of those.. they recommended a course of herbal medicine and acupuncture.

I have just been diagnosed with the same problem , high cholesterol and high blood pressure 150 /95. i think its due to current circumstances, mostly its being caused by stress ( the blood pressure anyhow ). Ive gained lots of weight in the last siz months ( probably hasnt helped much ).Have they given you diuretics yet ?? too reduce the amount of water in your body. The doctors normally try various things , diet,diuretics before any serious medication is given.

Have you experienced any other effects of having high BP , as you can have or not have symptoms.
i was prescribed diuretics by the doctor. However i have been and fetched some natural ones first to see if they help. I now have to attend a HBP clinic every two weeks until further notice. If you find anything you try works let me know please
