I just have some questions.

but i had some questions and i have tried everything to find information about jw.

i am only 16. so if i say something that is typed wrong or sounds mean or rood i apoligise.

i have bad spelling also.

Responding to your 3. question....while JWs are very strict, I have to say, based on my experince being in different congregations and reading about others on this forum, there are many veriations as to what is allowed or considered okay behavior depending on the local body of elders and the culture of the congregation. For example the dress of my first congregation was very formal and dressed up, but I would have been VERY out of place if I wore the same dresses at the last congregation I attended. It depends on that local cong for many "rules" about what is considered okay entertainment. There have been many times I would read about folks getting into trouble for listening to rock or heavy metal yet it was okay to enjoy that kind of music in my congregation.

I was a "born-again" Christian prior to becoming a Witness, and I found, overall, that Jehovah's Witnesses were less strict than most Mainstream Christains.

how about when they first unequivocally wrote of the unitarian/arian viewpoint?

and when did one view versus the other first become an issue?

Has anyone ever experienced a miracle?

does anyone have a true story that unquestionably proves god's existence?

bible stories or amazing coincidences do not count as a viable response, sorry to say.

i'm asking as a person who, although good-hearted and "moral", has lost all faith in an outside god of any kind.

I have.

Before I had become a Witness, I was a born-again Christian. I had a boyfriend in my church who was very tall and his knees bothered him terrible. Often during or after church services there were opportunities ask for prayer, usually with a couple of elders. He asked for prayer that his knee problems would be healed...and they were, right then and there, and he was thrilled, and I never forgot that experience. In fact, if really bothered me when I became a Witness and was told that the miracle had to be from Satan because God didn't do miracles anymore and that he wouldn't have listened to their prayers anyway...I have come to see that the creator is not limited to our understanding or interpretation of him/her.

I have had other situations, such as poulterguise-type demon activity (the kind of blatant stuff that cannot be ignored or written off as imagination....the kind of stuff out of movies) that ended when praying in Jesus name with other believers....and at least one situation where I had a premonition pop into my head that saved my life two seconds later...since my abilities for precognition are not developed, and the thought didn't come from myself, it was as if someone else's thought was spoken into my thoughts, I consider that was also devine intervention, but I don't think that is the "miracle" material you're looking for so I'll leave out the details.

well, tonite, i finally said what i had to say to my live-in.

i've shared just a tiny bit of the insanity i've been thru and put up with with this man...............for three years.. there is a saying when you've had enough, you'll stop.

today, after pacing like a restless tiger in the house and not wanting to do any of the things i suggested, he called a cab and is on his way to buy crack and hang out with an old friend from his past.

What's So Wrong With Telephone Sex?......Young People Ask....

"telephone sex, however, promotes coldness and anonymity...... telephone sex is one of the means that satan the devil is using to corrupt young ones today.....if you are currently engaging in telephone sex, why not get some help?

At one point I had had a JW boyfriend, he was raised in the Truth (I was not) and we had phone sex....and my conscious kicked in and I confessed to a sister. She was a lot older than me, and had been a Witness for many years, though she had not grown up a JW.

She didn't say anything to our elders, but she did tell me not to talk to the elders because "it this gets back to the brothers it will go all the way up to the Governing Body, there's no presedent for this!" (I couldn't find anything on the CD-Rom about it myself.) I guess I must not have been the only one, only took a couple of years for an article to come out on it!

Long story, but I did end up having to go before my elders, though my friend had nothing to do with it. It was really embarrassing. Ended up getting privately reproved (more than just the phone stuff was involved,) lost all my privledges for awile.

i just learned that the wt has recently begun a tv ad campaign to reimage themselves as family counselors.

does anyone have details about the content of these commercials?

is this new direction for the org.

I'm note sure if the ads are the same ones you're referring too.....but I have seen several commerials/PSA/advertisments on TV lately by JW's. I've even seen one on the Spanish Channel, Univision. I've seen one about internet predators, and I think another one too, but I don't recall the details. They were on very early in the morning I think.....they definately caught me off-guard, I was not expecting to see Witness adds on TV!

Yes, it does get better, my first year out I was a horrible mess, but the pain, confusion, and internal battles that go on inside do ease up over time.

Time to have a Picket Rally at Bethel?

i would like to propose a general purpose picket of bethel to happen on the nissan 14 (can anyone tell me what day that falls on this year?).

bill bowen and everyone from silent lambs can come and protest on behalf of abused children.

Anyone ever have this?

my therapist says that i have post traumatic stress disorder.

one of the many symptoms of this is hypervigilance.

if i hear a sudden sharp noise, i immediately jump twenty feet in the air and scream.

For many years I have always been "on edge", often freaking out at the slightest thing....and though I think that multiple factors were involved, I'm sure PTSD has something to do with it. It took time, not having bad stuff happen for awhile, and lots of prayer, and finally I'm getting better!
