  Wasn't there going to be a "BIG ANNOUNCEMENT" sometime about now?

  hi guys.. i mostly lurk but i'm sure there was speculation early summer about some "big announcement" scheduled for octoberish.. did i miss it or are we any the wiser what/when it will be?.

  when you were a jw did you find it strange that you were not anointed with the holy spirit that you weren't part of the new covenant?

  did you wonder where this idea came from?

  in fact there isn't any support in the bible for such a concept and it is one of the many heresies of destruction that these false teachers have propagated.

  Growing up a JW I was basically told it would be impossible to go to heaven, so i just accepted it. But I think if you start studying with dubs now and decide your annointed, you got to have a set of balls on you.

  On another note. Did anyone here ever get nervous about living forever on earth?

  I used to have panic attacks all thoughout my childhood and even as recent as a year or two ago about having to live forever. It sounds like a great thing (to live forever), but it always freaked me out that there would be no end.......

  Am I crazy??

  i recently went to a wedding and the father of the bride that (re)married a (worldly) man said to me, "the only thing that i can say about raising our kids as witnesses was at least they got a good foundation.

  The phrases "fleshly brother" or "fleshly sister" (referring to one's siblings rather than one's "brothers and sisters" in religion) sets my teeth on edge. I get an unpleasant mental picture of skinned people.

  I know what you mean, its like when I hear "unbelieving mate". It makes me picture them having sex.

  I mother and Aunt saying go put on your "kingdom clothes" so we can leave for the meeting. Has anybody else ever heard "Kingdom clothes, or kingdom shoes" ?

  have you ever thought about the isrealites beginning to enter the promised land and how they then had to turn back and wander in the wilderness for 40 years?

  have you ever wondered if there is a modern day parallel in our time?

  perhaps 75 was our approach to that promised land that we then had to turn back from and "wander"... .

  Should we not be happy, though, that the end has not yet come? During this decade of the 1990?s, restrictions on preaching the good news have been lifted, miraculously it would seem, in Eastern Europe, parts of Africa, and other lands. The apparent "delay" is allowing time for many more "sheep" to be gathered from these territories that have recently opened up...

  If only the damn internet was never invented....The 90's looked so promising.

  i ordered it and started reading it because i was intriqued by ray franz's comments on it in crisis of conscience.

  it so propagandaish its ridiculous.

  it even has an index in the back that can point you to topics such as ... marriage (why not to).... and last day's.
