Most Annoying "Kingdom song?"
by doodle-v inwhat's a kingdom song you can remember singing that gives you the creeps now?
mine is "move ahead" i think that was the title, anyway it has so much rhetoric... but the tune is so darn catchy.... darn.... in my opinion, those songs are the perfect example of mind control.
move ahead.. move ahead ... blah blah blah blah blah .

circuit assembly talk insults fat people
by Ray6 ini haven't been to my circuit assembly yet, but i was told that one of the talks speaks about the horrible sin of being overweight, how jehovah hates fat and how we can not make it in the new world if we are fat.

Your favorite Watchtower oddities
by logansrun inyou know, there are some things phrased that are just so, so....watchtoweresque.
what are some things you see that remind you of some wt foibles?
one thing that always cracks me up is when an article or book (or post) uses too many exclamation points.

Hi all,
After reading the face of war post on how the US in covering up the atrocities, it has finally compelled me to ask this question which has been on my mind for weeks.
I am glad to see Saddam gone and think in the end it will have been the right thing to do. But when Bush told Saddam to disarm "or else" what if Saddam had really disarmed? Would we still have gone in there? If he had disarmed and we didn't go in, the human atrocities would still be ongoing. It appears to me that somewhere along the way someone has switched gears and has turned this into a humanitarian issue rather than the primary issue that was the ultimatum.
Any thoughts on this? I've asked some of my coworkers what they think and just got that blank start and shoulder shrug that can only come from living such insular lives.
Thanks, Diana

I was in third grade. My best friend Jimmy was having a birthday party and my mother sent in a note to the teacher asking if I could "please go to the library during the party." Just as luck would have it, the library was located directly opposite of my classroom. I remember clearly put my Jane Eyre novel down (I always read depressing books to perhaps make me feel better ) and I pressed my face up against the glass window of the library and watched the festivities going on across the hall. I felt very strongly that it wasn't right and I vowed that I would leave when I could (which I did) and never subject my child to the humiliation and embarassment I had to endure that day.
BTW, my teacher mangaged to smuggle over a cupcake Thanks Mrs. Appleyard!

Need help with the Trinity
by dins ini have been talking to a coworker of mine about religion and it's been rather interesting; it involves accepting christ into your heart as your saviour.
another thing is the trinity.. is there anything that any of you have found in the bible based on these beliefs.
i keep reading scriptures about god being one, and christ his son but then my coworker insists they are one in the same.. how, if anyway.

So What's Your Porn-Star Name? (Fluff, BTW)
by Englishman inyou take the name of your favourite pet as the first part of your porn-star name, then you take your mothers maiden name for your porn-star surname.. which makes me...george bennet, hmm fairly ordinary i suppose... but her ladyship becomes...poppy male...ah, it works sometimes then!.
this could be good.

Jelly,
I would be more than happy to assist you. I was a Weight Watchers leader for several years in the UK. Had to give it up when I moved back to the US because of work demands, but I still manage to volunteer my time to a local weight loss group whenever I can and I teach aerobics part time.
I was always "pleasingly plump" as my grandmother would say, but when my weight skyrocketed to well over 200 pounds I knew I had to do something. That was 8 years ago almost and I have managed to keep most of the weight off since that time. Excercise is crucial, although at your weight, perhaps you should consult a doctor to have your vitals taken before you begin anything rigorous.
Write everything down, and don't fall into the trap of drastic measures. If you wish, you may e-mail me for advice and encouragement.
mailto: [email protected]
It's not easy but I wish you well on the first steps of your journey. Hope to hear from you.

District Assembly Instructions
by RubaDub inam i too thin-skinned or does anyone find that annual km insert dealing with the district assembly offensive???.
i mean, having to read and comment on those same things every year about not cooking in your hotel room, not to steal food if breakfast is offered, not to poop in the sinks, or whatever they say.
if you have to give those "reminders," it makes you wonder about the people you are sitting next to during the sessions.. *****rub a dub

Does anyone remember the smell of assemblies? It's been years since I've been to a district convention but the sharpest memory I have is the awful dirty sweaty underwear odor that seemed to pervade the whole stadium. And the boredom......how could any parent expect their child to sit there for untold hours listening to something they weren't interested in either? Should be a form of child abuse! Diana

I need a female weight loss buddy....support help!
by scootergirl inokay......first of the year.......goals to be made and achieve (hopefully).. one of my goals is to drop a few pounds and firm a few places.
i know better than to get any support from my husband ("oh, you look fine, honey")....so i was wondering if there is anybody (preferrably female) on the board that would be interested in supporting me/and me supporting them (weight loss goal).
i have read of a few females that are trying to lose a few extra......so i am pretty sure i am not alone.. i am trying to focus on eating more healthy and cutting down on snacks.

New Year's is always a time when people start those resolutions..I know...I lost over 60 pounds (5 stone for you UK people) about 7 years ago. Having been chubbyish most of my adult life, I now try to eat right and exercise regularly. I was also a Weight Watcher's leader for several years and I am a fitness instructor now part time. So if you need help give me a shout [email protected] if you need advice on nutrtion or what kind of activities you should be doing.
From experience, I can tell you that taking the weight off is simpler than maintaining it in the long run, so I wish you all good luck and let me know how you all "weigh in."
Diana :)
PS - take measurements. that's real important. And if it depresses you too much (like it did me) have your partner or mother do it and then put it away!.
