I was once counseled by two elders and taken to the back room because I did not keep the brothers/sisters up to date with my wedding plans. It was wrong of me to not include the brothers in my plans, since they want to be part of it. That same night I got counseled because a few of the bro/sis were concerned on how I was able to keep up with my hours if they did not see me often in field service. At the time I was attending a Community College full time, working part time, pioneering and planning a wedding. I got counseled for 45 minutes non-stop for wearing gaucho pants.

I saw the last 40 minutes of it, wished I would've seen it from the beginning. I think it's a very hopeful movie, it totally build up my hopes for those battling cancer. I wonder if someone has found a cure for AIDS but it has not been publicized yet because it is still waiting for the FDA approval.......you are talking about "Proof of Life"...I'm terrible with actors' names.

Is there a breaking point for JW?
by BonaFide inin 1989, when the wt said, "the preaching work will be completed before the end of this century", i believed it.
then when they changed it in the bound volume, i was a little nervous, but i didnt say anything.. but then when i was a missionary, and i personally went to the branch office about a pedophile, and they told me to leave it in jehovah's hands, and that jehovah will erase the girl's mind and to stay out of it, that really bothered me.
i couldnt sleep.

Did You Know Anyone That Got In Trouble For "Celebrating" July 4th?
by minimus ini knew of a slew of jw revelers that got into trouble with the elders for "celebrating" the holiday with fireworks and/or a picnic.. did you ever get counseled for celebrating a nation's birthday?>.

I'm surprised that people got scolded for just watching the fireworks when bethelites went to the roof and brought up guests to watch the fireworks. Bethel in Brooklyn had the best view of it and they did this every year.

the latest co around here if you have them for a meal you get a list what they will not eat.

Yes, the new CO and his wife in my old congregation only eat organic food. Good luck them! If my congregation is still as cheap as they were 10 years ago when I was there, I doubt they'll get a glass of water.....Organic food is much pricier.

What Was The Silliest "Offense" That You Were Counseled For?
by minimus inwhen i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.

Counseled by the CO for speaking too animated and smiling too much. He told my friend and I that we should look serious when preaching to give a good testimony to the outside......We could not believe it! We got counseled for looking happy in service and we were speaking low!!! Unbelievable.

My outfit was very decent and conservative. I was so in shock and speechless that I never got to tell him off like he deserved, but later on, I did report him to two elders and they told me he was way out of line and his comments were very insulting.....don't know if they ever approached him though.
