The Watchtower Organization reminds me of a bad marriage where the attacker is the Governing Body and it's victims are everyone else. Overtime, just like in a physically or mentally abusive marriage, the victim begins to think it's their fault. If the person does not escape, they are eventually killed by their attacker, commit suicide, or are forever in agony remaining in a delusional state.

looking back at my experience as a jw, i can now see all the things that are similar to other organizations that i thought were cultic, although i justified such activities in my own organization, as we were programmed to think by the organization.
what amazes me is that there are so many otherwise intelligent, rational, and cogent men and women in these religious organizations that can point to cultic corruption and mind and behavior control in other organizations, yet cannot see the very same exact tactics being used upon them.

Do you think a nuclear weapon will be used in war or terrorism in our time?

do you think it is something we should expect, that in our lifetime a nuclear weapon will be used in war or an act of terrorism?
i personally think it is possible, and i think it would be the middle east that would see this happening.

It is possible at anytime or anywhere. They never should have made nukes. Eventually like everything else, it gets around.

JW's discourage people with a lesser spirituality
by JH inwhat if a person would be happy to go to just 1 jw meeting a week?.
what if a person found pleasure going out in the field service only once a month?
not everyone is super zealous like many jw's.

All of the watchtowers indirect forced zealousness, has forced many witnesses into a state of making their good works known to man for men (watchtower)favor. Matthew 6:1 says "Take good care not to practice your righteousness in front of men in order to be observed by them; otherwise you will have no reward with your Father who is in the heavens."

Did you have a Witness approved car?
by free2beme inwhen i was a witness, i was told that a responsible witness purchased a car that was able to be used in field service.
as an example, it would have four doors to allow easy entry for a car group of 4 to 6 people.
it was something that was not to showy, meaning it was not a lexus or something that would make it seem that witnesses were materialistic, especially when working a poor part of the community.

Recently Studied With JW's--need help breaking up
by Silvia Plath ini studied with the jw's for two years and some time this coming week i will be making the "phone call" to tell carol my friend, that i do not want to study any longer with the jw's.
i don't know why i let them into my kitchen to begin with, except there was something about her and i don't make friends well with other women, most of my friends are guys, but carol could tell a irish yarn that made you laugh and feel good.
she made me feel safe and she was fun to go shopping with and talk about problems too, she was like the mother i never had.

by booker-t ini was recently discussing this topic with my "pentacostal" fire and brimstone preaching granduncle.
he said that alot of christians try to be "politically correct" and wiggle out of this question for fear of "turning" people away.
he said that most born-again christians that believe in hell fire do believe that jehovah is going to torment babies in hell if their parents have not accepted jesus as their lord and savior.

Although, people does alot of speculation, It is not for us to place judgement on others. Do we as servants of christ, while in the flesh in our own imperfection have the authority and superior knowledge to say who will go to heaven or be destroyed/hell. GOD has ordained those whom will lead and or participate in his judgemets. And as far as i can tell, they are all and/or soon to be in heaven not on earth. And, who will sit in those judgement seats (revelation 20:4)? GOD will appoint (matthew 20:20-23). Those seats are reserved for those whom have been proven deserving by GOD. They have "fought the good fight" to death. And the Governing Body and anyone else are in error to prematurely claim this position. And as mention, in another posting "I will have mercy on whom, I will have mercy". Thank God all our llives are in the hand's of the LORD..

but seriously..could it be that they have a life and they may not have time for you anyway?

You may be right. Maybe if she were to tell them how she was feeling (to some of her friends) and maybe they will reassure her that's not the case.
