  We'll have to go to an Earth Wind & Fire concert. Do they still play?

  I don't count anything against you for singing the 80's too. Just, I hope you're not singing "Material Girl" or "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". I must admit to singing Culture Club/Boy George songs like "Karma Chameleon", "Do you really want to hurt me", and, of course the BORG song "Church of the Poisoned Mind".

  Don't forget the greatest Hall & Oats song ever (made for Paris Hilton, though written years before she was ever conceived)...."Rich Girl"....for those of you not from this era....the song goes like this..."You're a rich girl, and you've gone too far 'cause you know it don't matter anyway...You can rely on the old man's money, You can rely on the old man's money. It's a bi*** girl but it's gone too far 'cause you know it don't matter anyway"

  Boy George and Madonna I do not sing. I don't want to get ostracized. My H&O favorites are "Sara Smile" and "I Can't Go For That." EWF are still playing! I went to a concert not too long ago, it was them and Chicago. It was great (of course, I'm going to say that about everything they do).

  Before a few months ago, the only time I would really wonder if I had the truth was when I'd examine the "new light" on things. I used to tuck those thoughts away with a dismissive, "Well, it still comes from a group of people who get divine inspiration." Then I read 1984 and the connection became clearer. Then I found out that a small group of men figure it all out. Thus began the education of Little Tree.

  #7) Anything off my Earth, Wind, & Fire albums.

  Rock on! For me, there's Hall and Oates songs that I know a bit too horrorshow. Think "Private Eyes" and "Out of Touch." If they come on I have to belt them out, no matter what my friends think. I don't mind the looks, though. I collect mainly funk so it weirds them out to see me singing, word for word, pop songs from the 80s.

  people on this board have been been saying how they would never go door-to-door informing the public about their new jw views.

  one reason, it has been said, is that jws would still be having an affect on them.

  they don't want to spend their saturday mornings discussing the religion.

  You've equate spending time preaching the JW message with spending time deconstructing JW theology. The difference is simple: in the former instance, we were selling magazines and books for a publishing corporation. Now we are spending time supporting each other and helping others see the light. It's a labor of love on the part of individuals such as Blondie, AlanF, Leolaia, Norm, and Danny Haszard (and many others) to provide information and research on a wide variety of topics.

  The amount of time spent is not the issue, because it's a worthwhile endeavor to help people the organization has abused.

  Have you heard, "There are people worse off than you, stop complaining!"

  this was a typical response to any kind of complaint or sharing of a personal situation with anyone in the congregation.

  instead of offering up some kind of physical or emotional support, almost 100% of the time me and my family would get the old:.

  "don't you know that there are brothers worse off than you in the world, whom are truly hurting?

  I say that to people sometimes, but only when needed! For example, I'll sometimes come across individuals going, "Man, I hate my small computer screen. I wish it were a few inches bigger" or "My car's gas bill is killing me!"

  And then I tell them to stop complaining, because there are people worse off than you. It works every time, though.

  after reading the stories concerning the 7/7 bombings,i wonder how many heard unbelieveable stories at convention and other meetings?

  The 2-door car thing is great. I have one . That means I rarely have to drive in magazine-selling time. And when I do drive with more than one other person, their expressions of annoyance just make my day.

  Seriously though, the only reasons why I got it were because the paint was good and there was a decent little sound system in the back.

  On the subject of unbelievable stories...I really had a hard time believing all those "miraculous checks" stories, i.e.: "My rent was $600, and my utility bill came to $98.06, and I owed my friend $55.75. So I prayed to Jehovah and then went out every day of the month, and answered at every meeting. Then when my bills were due I got this letter from a sister who had extra money, so she gave me a check for $753.81!!! THANK YOU GOD!!!!!"

  The parents were not "proven" guilty they were made to look guilty by police. Police that admitted they had not followed protocal and may of made it impossible to ever find the person who committed this crime. and rabid media and press compounded and jumped on the story hungry for the next hot story, never mind if everything they report was true or not!

  True. They were tried and convicted in the so-called Court of Public Opinion. The Ramseys were portrayed as vindictive parents who had child-killing urges that they couldn't control. I saw examples of this on sketch comedy shows. Because I hadn't heard of any other suspects, I bought the conclusion that the parents killed Jonbenet.

  The last time I'd even cared about the Ramsey murder was several years ago. Looking upon it now, hopefully the evidence is strong enough to find this creepy guy guilty and afford the Ramseys some relief from harrassment.

  I conducted the book study two nights ago. In one of the pictures, there's a woman lying on a bed, looking pathetic and disoriented, with a dark fluid injected into her veins. Book study members have concluded that this is a picture of a woman getting a blood transfusion. The comments I have been getting range from extreme ignorance to evidence of complete brainwashing. "She doesn't look too happy. Maybe because she realizes that this blood is killing her?" was on the extreme ignorance end.

  On the complete brainwashing end: "It's really sad to see people think of such selfish actions. They are really breaking God's law when they take blood transfusions!" My jaw just about nearly dropped to the floor.

  This death cult has got to be stopped.

  Dang bronzefist, that's dirt what happened to your son. There used to be inter-family drama in my congregation too, but nothing as blatant as what those families did. All the individuals involved in family drama either moved away from the congregation or dropped out altogether.
