  How up are you on the music and musical artist, hot today?

  as i get older, i understand more the generation gap we always remembered being mentioned with our parents.

  i always thought i was on top of the music scene, as i used to run a music and video store in the late 80's.

  i thought it kept me on a path, that would keep me in the know of what was hot and what was not.

  often we see pictures in books or on the net or even in jw magazines of what jesus may have looked like.

  i googled jesus and found these pictures of what he may have looked like.. here are a few pictures i saw that didn't match what i expected jesus to look like.

  for me, jesus should like like this below .

  Because they don't trust young persons to make decisions for themselves without compromising their faith in the WTS. Their policy is that of discouraging everyone from obtaining 4-year degrees or above, that way the "weak-minded" ones don't risk their faith, while the "strong-minded" ones go ahead with their education and perhaps go to Bethel or something.

  I heard that constantly when I was about to graduate from High School. "If you go to college far from home, you're going to end up leaving the Truth TM ." It seemed absolute: you leave home and surround yourself with people who don't think like you do, you will end up spiritually dead. Even at that time, it sent off warning bells in my head: if you don't keep yourself indoctrinated, you will stop believing.

  The implications abounded. What kind of faith is this religion building in me? Was it all so weak that I'd discard it at first chance? I didn't think it would, but older people knew better...or so I thought...

  I remember watching his show and commenting, "You know, one day he's gonna end up dead from the risks he takes." Not so funny anymore...

  I also remember seeing a picture of him and his baby, so I feel for his kids, too.

  Blood donation question

  are there any repercussions for a jw if they donate blood.

  there is a blood drive at work and i would like to participate.

  here's the catch though there is a jw in my depatment, his dad is on the hospital liason thingy.

  I asked the Circuit Overseer this same question. Witnesses take from the blood bank all the time but never return any of it.

  Right now the blood policy is inconsistent because of what you just said. If dubs are not allowed to donate, they should not be allowed to take any blood either. I think this point should be emphasized whenever there is public discussion of the blood policy--dubs can take take take, but giving? Oh no. That's a sin.

  My house seems to get them every month. They always come from Tulsa, OK. Must be the heart of the Bible Belt or something.

  The funniest one came with a "scented prayer rug." It was a waxy piece of paper with some cheap perfume spritzed in the middle. There was a picture of Jesus on it, and when you looked at it from different angles, it looked like he was winking at you!

  I made an offering of the letter straight to the almighty shredder.
